Indiana State Museum. It's the last word for any benevolent of activity whether for adults or kids.
The Children's Museum is markedly good. Also, stir out to the Indianapolis Speedway. They have a upright museum inside the track, and you can ride on buses that drive around the track.
To eat, stir to Shapiro's Deli on the southside of downtown. It's really good as far as lunch delis shift.
In the Children's Museum of Indianapolis, my kids enjoy a lot contained by this museum.The life-sized model of T-Rex is just amazing.
I similar to going to the Zoo, the race track, Pacer games, and here are plenty of great restaurants to go to -- st elmos, santorini greek kitchen.

If you will be downtown and without transportation you can way of walking to the State Museusm, Canal Walk, US Indianapolis memorial, Victory Field (baseball), IUPUI campus (Indiana University / Purdue University - Indianapolis: concerts, art displays), Soldiers and Sailors Monument (The Circle), World War Memorial.
The Children's Museum is a must-do and is just a few minutes from downtown by bus or sports car.
The Indianapolis Motor Speedway and Museum is another proiority but easiest to reach by saloon.
Seasonal activities include auto race (Indianapolis Speedrome - far east side - short-track racing feature the locally popular Figure-8, Indianapolis Raceway Park ... okay, okay O'Reilly Raceway Park - drag racing and oval race, ocassional roadracing), hockey (Indianapolis Ice), basketball (Pacers), the Indiana State Fair in August, the entire month of May is chock-a-block with goings-on promoting the Speedway, other festivals and such available both downtown and throughout the nouns.
You will be better off if you own a car as the public transportation is virtually useless around here.
