Grapevine, Texas HELP?
I'll be graduating subsequent month from Anthem College(online classes). The graduation will be in Grapevine, Texas at the convention center. I would similar to to know what and where is the best place to munch through, stay and maybe something to do. I hold a 3 year old son and I would dislike intensely staying in a repulsive hotel or a bad side of the city. PLEASE HELP..
Answers:
yeah, Gaylord is great, if pricey; Grapevine isn't really big ample to have a "desperate side", there are a great deal of hotels to choose from due to airport, depends on your budget. If you do stay in Grapevine, try to munch through at Tolbert's on main st., re-do of an feeble timey chili parlor and owned by descendant of the great Texas writer Frank X. Tolbert (who wrote the definitive treatise on chili, "A bowl of red").
You could ride the tarantula train to Fort Worth ("where on earth the west begins")
GV has the usual tie up restaurants. Saltgrass is OK for steak, or Silver Fox or Bob's for a high dollar meaty treat.
Or.you could stay contained by Dallas, not that far away (~15 miles) and lots more to do..Grapevine has a cutesy ripened main street, but that's something like it, unless you like watching planes lug off and landscape. Oh, and shopping at Grapevine Mills outlet mall, if you're into that.
Stay at the really nice Gaylord if you can.
