how much would it cost to go 4 miles.
Answers:
ummmm Mark, you are almost never wrong, but don't you want to double check this info...According to my calculations using your info a ride from LAX to downtown would cost over $200.00 without tip.If your information are right I am going into the "Gypsy" cab business.LOL
Based on one taxi company's published fare of $2.65 flag drop plus $0.35 per each 1/7 mile, it would cost you in recent times over $12.00.
Didn't know there be going to be a math quiz so early within the morning.
Keep contained by mind that the meter keeps ticking when you're stopped surrounded by traffic. If you're going at commute time, that could double the fare, or more.
If you're on the west side of Silverlake, you could take the Red Line to Union Station. There's a station at Sunset/Vermont. Fare is $1.25
The SuperShuttle airport vans give somebody a lift you from your doorstep to LAX for about $25 - www.supershuttle.com
L.A. taxi also do a flat rate service to LAX. From Silverlake, should be about $30-35.
Don't forget to include tip if you're taking the shuttle or hackney carriage.
where on earth you starting from? are you starting from Lax?
if so the minimum fare to leave Lax surrounded by a taxi is $15.00
+2.50 charge consequently its about $2.00 for 1/8 of a mile
Plus at lowest $1.00 per minute if the cab is caught within traffic..
you might want to look in to public transit
Why not consider newly using the MTA bus to Union Station? From Silverlake you have several option. All of the lines along Sunset blvd the 2,3,4,302,304 come close to Union Station as does the 92 line which runs along Glendale blvd into downtown. Keep surrounded by mind too that in PS to the Flyaway bus you can also take a MTA express row #439 from Downtown LA to the LAX city bus center which would allow for an ever easier transfer at Temple & Hill streets. Whatever you choose avoid a hackney carriage unless you want to spend a fortune!
