i'm from Portland and there truly are more black people at hand but they just stay surrounded by one area whereas here within AZ black people are a lesser amount of and spread apart.
I enjoy heard that Portland is a bit 'black-people-less'. I also heard that you will capture a little racism within the sense that you will get that consciousness from white peple (if you aren't hanging out next to just other blacks) that you don't belong nearby. A friend (who is white) told me (just last night) that his friend, (who is black)who is a PhD, resourcefully educated, and next to a pleasant personality (he feels) have an experience in Portland. He said she be walking across a street, (well dressed) and an older white female clutched her purse... lol
I live in Phoenix, and enjoy seen blacks. (I come from PA though...so I am used to seeing extraordinarily few blacks in go...) I must say that after 11 yrs I own experienced very few racist moments. Now, PA be another story! I have a BUCKET full of incidents I can share, but won't.
Those are my four cents.
In Portland there are intensely few black people. Phoenix is a bit more cosmopolitan and I hold noticed little within the way of tribal tension. There is a much better percentage of Hispanic, Native American and Asian people contained by the area. Like most university towns, Tempe (Home of ASU) have a more balanced tribal mix and the people are friendly and outgoing. This nouns was once in principle segregated but have come a long way during the population explosion of the closing 60 years. Most people here come from somewhere else and brought their regional values with them.
Not perfect.
Black inhabitants take up 3% of the state of AZ ...WoW.conceivably its just too hot ...But i will say aloud i have be out here for five years and there are somedays i wont see a black human being ,unless i go to south phoenix... ...They didnt even want MLK morning out here ..lets not forget
I have a black friend, she swears up and down she's see another black person here within the valley, somewhere... once... a long time ago.
