Is Chicago a nice break spot?
Answers:
Yes. There's lots to do. Get tickets to the "Second City". There are plenty of museum-type places (Field Museum, Shedd Aquarium, Planetarium, Art Institute of Chicago, Childrens' Museum, etc.) and lots of shopping.
There are about a million inhabitants a year who would say yes.
What's your definition of a nice vacation? There isn't a complete lot to do in Chicago except museums and view sports. Also, if you do come, beware of the parking fees downtown. It's up to $50 a day contained by a hotel.
If you like to whip vacations surrounded by a city, it is a great spot to visit. There are greatly of things to do (sports, arts and cultural, restaurants and bars, etc) and it is a verbs and friendly city.
The only downside is you have need of to be prepared for some unpredictable weather. Otherwise it is the best city in the USA.
Absolutely !
Most unquestionably if u go within July or August, thats when the weather is at its best. Theres much to do and see in Chicago. The Museums, shopping, theaters. You should hold a great time.
It's a great place to stop by. If you're interested in getting rotten the beaten (& too-crowded) route, visit other museums, approaching the Polish-American Museum, or the National Vietnam Veterans Art Museum, Oriental Institute Museum, Chinatown museum...go walking along the lakefront (not exactly atypical, but still great to do).
It depends on what you consider a vacation.
There is much to do and see contained by Chicago but I wouldn't call going nearby a vacation because it's a city. But I am going to California within 2 weeks. (LA and San Diego) I think California have more to offer and in attendance is time and places to relax.
