I"m going to be contained by Chicago...siteseeing. Best means of access to travel around town? Is in attendance a subway?

I've other found the L kind of confusing. You could cart a taxi if you don't mind spending the money. I would not recommend the CTA buses though! Walking is other an option since everything is pretty close together.
yes its called the L
The "L" train (or the CTA) is the most common form of public transportation. I own used it both during the day and darkness. It is really nice to have. It lone costs $2.00 no matter where on earth you are going. Here is the website for it:

http://www.transitchicago.com/

(click on "trip planner" on the right hand side of the screen-here you can plan where on earth you would like to travel and when)

There is also a train called "Metra". This train doesn't enjoy as many stops but it may draw from you to your destination faster (depending on where you are going/coming from). Here is the website for Metra:

http://www.metrarail.com/

The cost of Metra vary depending on how far you are taking it. It cost me $3.05 to get from Evanston (north side) to downtown..(this may cut your time surrounded by half compared to the CTA).

Also, pretty much where you go, you will not enjoy a hard time finding a taxicab that is justifiably priced...

I hope you enjoy yourself! Chicago truly is an eventful and exciting place to be!

Don't forget to pop in places like Navy Pier, John Hancock building, the Art Institute, and unsurprisingly, Michigan Ave for lots of shopping! Have fun!!
It's flowing and safe to use public transportation contained by Chicago. You can even get from O'Hare to downtown (mostly business area) by the "L". The "L" later goes from the suburbs contained by the north to the suburbs in the south next to many stops along the agency, making a loop around the downtown area. If you'll be going to the Lake, the Art Institute -- and fabulous Milenium Park or Michigan Avenue (did you say-so shopping??) you can get to and from those places by bus.
damn girl

I have a friend nearby, who uses these little cars you can rent by the hour that are scattered around contained by parking lots. You just slide your credit card and embark on the door, and turn on and drive.
Yes, nearby is a subway/el system, also CTA buses.
i lived within for a few years when i was a kid..definetly cab. hope i helped you!
frank give a good thought and also by taxi. stay away from the subway unless you're next to a native chicagoan.
i suggest there is a subway
an above ground train called the L biddable luck, have fun.
Yes, it's call the L, and it goes adjectives around town. Go to transitchicago.com and download a map. It's by far the easiest way to grasp around town besides walking (which you can do - Chicago is very walkable), and quite simple as all the lines converge downtown.
yes at hand is a subway, other than the "L" it is call the south shore. and also try the taxi service it is GREAT!!
Yes, there's a subway and an L and buses, but abundantly of times it feels resembling riding cattle cars on a freight train, and bus drivers are often pretty short temper.
Best you take lots of walk, or better still find a bicycle because the city really is pretty compact, especially near the water shore. Sundays are nice because you can buy a "super transfer", meaning you can ride adjectives the buses and all the Ls for the price of one ticket, and on Sundays it isn't outstandingly crowded. If you stay for a month you can buy a monthly pass...
