NJ or NYC, which is cheaper?

I have a hotel reservation at a Newark, NJ hotel for plans to travel into NYC. I'm staying ONLY two days, and the hotel I found surrounded by Newark is $80 a night, which is really cheap for a verbs hotel. The hotel offers shuttle to Newark International Airport, and from at hand we can take the train into NYC. My cross-examine is, what is the typical one way ticket from NJ to NYC by train? And would we be spending more money to commute surrounded by by train rather than purely get a hotel contained by new york? i be unable to find anything lower than $100 a night contained by NYC. Newark is fairly close, and cheap on the rooms, so what would you suggest. I don't want to spend over $200 for the hotel room for both days, so are we abiding money commuting into new york by train, or is staying here going to be cheaper in the long run?

Avoid taking a train from Newark Airport, as NJ Transit charges an outrageous premium for tickets at that demanding station ($15 ea adult ea. instrument!) For two return trips for 2 adults you're looking at $60. At that price, you may as well find a cab or bring back a hotel room in NYC.

If you can procure the shuttle to swing you by Newark Penn station then you can capture the PATH train into the city for only $1.50 ea. bearing. PATH is by far the cheapest route into the city from New Jersey and it runs 24 hours a day.

Also check out hotels within Brooklyn and Queens. There's some good deal there and you'll enjoy the convenience of the NYC subway to whisk you into Manhattan (although parking could be an issue).
NJ is usally cheaper than NY. NJ's tax is lower. Great interrogate.
