Where to live...Maui or Oahu?
I'm planning on moving to Hawaii from New York (close to the city) and undecided between Maui and Oahu. I know Oahu is more city-like and easier to bring back a job but I'm not sure if I want to live too close to the city..but I also don't want to gain bored because there is nil to do. This will also be a temporary move- 6mths to a year (until i can convince my fiance to trademark it permanent!) Maui or Oahu?!?!?

You don't say what your profession is, but in that will be a much wider selection of post opportunities on Oahu. If you are unacquainted to a fairly rural - or at most minuscule suburban - atmosphere, you may find it more difficult to adjust to living on Maui. There will be lots of things to do, so it shouldn't be boring, but they will mostly be out doors activities, not much nightlife except the resorts. I would suggest Oahu, & later if both you & your fiance love Hawaii, but are finding Oahu just a bit too much city, later move to Maui.

I lived within Oahu and have be to Maui many times. The perfect thing something like Oahu is they have a virtuous bus system. You dont need to enjoy a car. Over surrounded by Maui you may need to hold a vehicle. Oahu has a full bunch of jobs. Waikiki is really booming at the moment. I'm sure over contained by Maui in Lahiana and kanapali they would own jobs to. Just that Oahu is a bigger bazaar. I would say if you want more ammenties and things going on Oahu. If you wanna enjoy a more chill experience than Maui.
Oahu is a right place. You don't have to live in the neighbourhood the Honolulu area. You will enjoy a lot of fun surrounded by Oahu im sure you'll love it here.
I would go to Oahu.
Move to Oahu-- a lot of businesses are any relocating or popping up on Oahu esp. in Kapolei (2nd city) and Pearl City.
Ex: Hoku Scientific, Parsons, Associated Steel, etc...
