North Dallas Mckinney ??
I am thinking about move to McKinney, could somebody notify me what is like ? (btw. I am from Los Angeles).

Rush Hour is complex to explain. If there isn't an calamity, then rush hour can be 30 minutes to NORTH Dallas. If near is an accident, later it can easily hold an hour or more.
McKinney is a city in far North Dallas. Dallas is growing north so some voice it might be a suburb. It is it's own place, but is becoming more populated because Dallas is growing and there isn't anywhere else to shift. It is on a main highway (75) that go to Dallas so it is easily accesible.
Mckinney is a very nice town. Its simply north of dallas. The problem is traffic. If you will beworking in downtown dallas, It could run u an hour. Its very busy at both rush hours. And if within is a wreck,, forget about it. I hope you brought a map to find a short cut.
Obviously the 1st guy hasn't read the report lately. McKinney is THE fastest growing city in the nation for cities beside a population over 100,000 people.
McKinney is a nice nouns but it really is all in the region of houses there. Their projected population is contained by the 400,000 range. They own a huge mall one constructed at their southern border (Fairview) and are building a small town center just inside their southern border that will contain a movie theater.
The college district was not prepared for the speedy growth, at least as far as elementary school area concerned. Many students are stuck contained by trailers learning outside the university. They were prepared near high school however.
They have the most soccer field, per capita, in the United States.
The drive from McKinney can lift anywhere from 30 mins to downtown to 2 hours. I would say that the ride home take longer than the ride in.
Move to Plano or Frisco they are better.

It is nice...a lot of house for rather money...and there is business and shopping...plentifully of chain restaurants, seriously of chain department stores.but, it is the suburbs...no TRUE culture, no museums, no night time or anything.all of to be exact in or close Dallas which is quite a drive from McKinney.
My sister have lived there for around 8 years in the Stonebriar nouns. My husband and I are actually planning on moving in that in June. It is a drastically pretty town. Very well kept and most of the nouns has be built withing the past 8 years or so. Mickinney ISD arts school district is one of the top in the nation and be rated the top arts school district in Texas. The housing bazaar is pretty cheap and you can get more house for the money than we can here contained by Louisiana. Frisco is also a nice town, but a little more upper class. The houses are reasonably a bit more expensive. Typically, the closer you live to North Dallas, the more expensive housing will be. My sister commutes to downtown Dallas daily and it take her about 1-1 1/2 hours one style using the toll road. My husband will be working in Addison, so hopefully, it won't be too unpromising. Although houses are pretty cheap, apartments are quite high-ranking. There is no state income tax, but Texas residents are notably taxed for property that they own such as a house and vechiles. McKinney used to be surrounded by a dry county and you had to drive forever to attain alcohol, but about 2 years ago or so they started selling beer. As far as I know, they still do not put on the market hard liquor.
I strongly urge you to move to FRISCO
I've be to Mckinney and trust all it is is simply houses.nothing but unknown developments and the houses are built kinda cheap looking. Frisco on the other side actually have a life, those in Mckinney budge to frisco to get a time and the houses in frisco arent that much more expensive than Mckinney but they are definatly more classy and cleaner. I feel Besides highland park, I'd rather live within Frisco
Great huge spaces, uninhabited grass fields, big (like Texan big) properties - a simple drive through restaurant is as big as a 5 bedroom home... Land prices are still low contained by Mckinney, but it is the 2nd fastest growing city in the US. Most of Dallas metroplex's hectic bustle lies to the south, and a couple of highways connect Mckinney to that center of distraction - like US 75 or SH 289. The highway are spectacular, but the fact that they turn into 2 lane just in the past Mckinney tells you that Mckinney be just a rural community few years ago. Now there are sprawling malls, sparkling complexes full of lip-smacking restaurants, big groceries and supermarkets, lying simmering in the Texas steam or shrouded by the Texas cold. Vegetation does not display remarkable fall colors - they turn gray hastily and unnoticed. Public schools are apposite, crime rate is high, median income is around 50K - in good health rounded and I love it!
McKinney is merely houses and big box stores. Very nice, but everything is the same. If you enjoy to drive downtown would definitely try to find something closer unless you are a forgiving person.
