How is living within Boston?
I am planning on moving to Boston in something like 9 months, I know it's a long ways away, but what is living in Boston similar to? personal opinions please. I enjoy lived in in the order of 5 major cities surrounded by the past, but I newly want to get the feelings of people who live in that.

born and raised. i love it. i lived contained by cambridge, somerville, east boston, and medford. have no plans of leavin. come and look in and get a drink for yourself
It's nice, but I think its really expensive, though not compared to New York or LA. The piece I love most about Boston is that it is a relatively small city and you can stroll almost anywhere you want to go, and thieve a short T ride anywhere else. The music scene is great, and I think it have gotten better in former times few years. The fact that it is a college town offer a lot of free or cheap pedagogic and cultural opportunities, whether or not you are a student.
Cons: PARKING!! There is such a entity as a $100,000 parking space (and yes, that's the correct number of zeroes)
The winters are a b**ch (u said you'd lived in 5 other cities- if you've lived within Buffalo or Chicago Boston winters won't bother you.)
This is frivolous, but for women it's annoying- the cobblestone streets, which the tourism commisson loves, are murder on high heels. Stupid, I know, but it's a personal beef of mine.
That's it- to me, the pros heavily outweight the cons.
Well, why not come for a visit. If you're moving contained by 9 months, it seems you would be here sometime tardy spring, early summer of subsequent year. That's the best time for weather and things to do, so it should be nice. Boston is similar to other big cities (I think closest to Seattle, or possibly San Fran. moreso than a Chicago, or New York) but also so small that it's really easy to amble around the city and explore. Plus, it's so diverse and young next to so many university directly downtown. I hope you like sports, because Boston thrives on it! TONS of great places to get through, party, etc. And overall, the city is gorgeous. Go for a run along the Charles River, walk around the Commons, etc. I regard you'll love it. It's all the benefits of a huge city, but on a slightly smaller scramble.
Boston is a deeply nice city, in culture and especially dining. If you similar to eating out near are streets and streets of meals of frequent cultures, like Italian (delish!). Emerson University is a writing college, so if you approaching Language Arts many population there will key in it.
They enjoy a subway system, very nice for a subway. You obligation to purchase a Charley Card if you are going to continue to ride the "T".
A place of interest for my family connections and myself is the Boston Museum of Science. Extremely nice, and well funded.
Take a look in sometime, see your points of interest. Boston has points of interest for everyone.
its nice...ive lived here my whole go so its hard for me to be purpose and get the outside point of estimation but everything is there: culture, sports, food, bar, clubs, the lovely native boston attitude (not as doomed to failure as it seems), shopping, concerts, etc etc but if your a yankees fan dont even imagine about moving here
Living within Boston (Beantown) is great, because we got the strongest sports team such as, Boston Celtic, Red Sox, and the Patriots. Boston has flawless schools and own decent climate. And you dont enjoy to worry roughly speaking any hurricanes or terrible cocastrophe surrounded by this city.
If you are from the south, do not expect general public in the Northeast to be as depart; if they seem not as friendly, don't embezzle it personal; they are more protective of themselves (especially in New York).
Keep surrounded by mind I have never lived near, but have visit numerous times due to having family circle there. Driving contained by the Boston area, cram to make your own space; don't other expect other motorist to "let you in". I hold never been within during the winter time (closes to BOS is New York and burrr). Between Boston vs. New York, I'll take Boston over New York any sunshine.
Pros:
1. excellent and cheap public transportation
2. beautiful harbor and close to the the deep
3. world-class colleges and universities
4. finest hospitals contained by the nation
5. distinct New England seasons
6. airport is convenient located to the city
7. fine sports tradition (particularly baseball) and rabid sportsfans
8. interesting blend of the out-of-date and new
9. vibrant nightlife (doesn't compete next to NYC's but good for a city of its size)
10. entertainment and the arts (Boston Symphony Orchestra, museums, etc.,)
Cons:
1. ludicrously expensive housing and property
2. shortage of parks and land
3. compact and dense city: removal of space and privacy
4. no street grid system which makes it difficult to drive, navigate and park
5. touristy; can get hold of a bit expensive and crowded in the summer months (although this is when the students own emptied out of the city)
6. have the finest hospitals in the nation may not aim much to you if you can't afford it
7. has a "snobby" touch to it for first-timers, due to all of the higher-learning institutions such as Harvard and MIT
And, agree to me just affix that Sparkle is absolutely right...if you're a Yankees disciple, you're not welcome here.
On the other appendage, if you're a Yankee-hater, then we love you already. = )
Eveybody here is right on the speck.
But I just required to add that the post pay corresponds to the standard of living here. So expect difficult salaries than other cities that are not as expensive to live within as Boston.

Expensive, but very culturally diverse.
Well I'm from this nouns, and it's not too bad, newly expensive, especially if you live in actual downtown Boston. The surrounding parts aren't as expensive, but they can be, resembling Brookline. Car insurance is expensive in the city too and it's thorny to park. I'd say unless you live for a while further away from downtown like 10 miles, use public transportation because nearby are a lot of subway lines (we bid it the "T" here) that go where on earth you want, and it isn't too expensive. The city is very historical which is nice, and in attendance are always alot of tourists, but it's great for childish adults because most of the population is college age kids. There are a ton of cool bars and clubs, and restaurants. It can be cold within the city too, especially since it is right off the hose down, so it can often be colder downtown than it is within the outlaying areas. There's always interweave it seems because the high buildings create wind tunnels bascially...People here are nice, of late got to mind your own business and not draw attention to yourself.
