How come when foreigners come to America they move to California?
Why not Nebraska? Tennessee? Maine? Kentucky?

Answers:
California... the melt pot of the US
Many different people live in attendance so a new resident blends contained by.. no one usually ask any question.
Why does anyone from anywhere move here? Many people find this a desirable place to live.

And near the world's largest population of any ethnic group from anywhere in the world outside of their country of root, they find a ready-made community.

Perhaps if we stopped embracing immigrants resembling the progressive, left-wing, bleeding heart liberals we are, people wouldn't come here anymore.
Lincoln Nebraska has one of the utmost immigrant populations in the country compared to its overall population.
Because adjectives they know of America is Bay Watch... Go figure.

Besides... what really is beyond California that you can't go and get in California. California is a self sustaining country on its own. haha j/k.
Why didn't YOU..
Because they still have the 'old postcard' representation in mind, they still devise it is a dreamland where the beach are full of Pamela Andersons

But they they arrive here big deception, Hollywood is not so pretty, it take enormous money to buy a house, and nearby are Mexicans everywhere...
Not all...not even most. Generally speaking:

English populace favor Orlando, FL, DC and NYC.

Czechs favor Texas.

Russians favor Florida; especially Tampa and Miami.

Salvadorans favor Washingon, DC.

The Chinese favor NYC; especially Queens and Manhattan.

Koreans favor Northern Virginia.

The Portuguese favor Rhode Island.

So Cal is a harbor for many peoples; approaching the Iranians, Armenians, Arabs and Japanese. Northern California is usually for East Asians.
I have never notice that. Most people I assemble from other countries know about New York. They appear to know someone that went to NY or want to move to New York, Brooklyn is enormously popular. Also when I say I am from the US they assume I'm from NY.
Probably California is big and it's more like a relaxed place, not approaching us here in NYC, where on earth it's extremely crowded.
I am sure in attendance are cities and states all over the US asking matching question. But tolerate us not forget that this country was founded on priniciples where on earth foreigners could make a bright life for themselves. Should we remove the statue of Liberty from New York dockyard as it no longer applies? The inscription reads

Not resembling the brazen giant of Greek fame,
With conquering limb astride from land to manor;
Here at our sea-washed, sunset gates shall stand
A mighty woman beside a torch, whose flame
Is the imprisoned lightning, and her signature
Mother of Exiles. From her beacon-hand
Glows world-wide welcome; her mild eyes command
The air-bridged harbor that twin cities frame.
"Keep ancient lands, your storied pomp!" cries she
With silent maw. "Give me your tired, your poor,
Your huddled masses yearning to breathe free,
The wretched deny of your teeming shore.
Send these, the homeless, tempest-tost to me,
I lift my storm lantern beside the golden door!"

Should we not continue to initiate our doors to those who want a better way of go. I hope you will take the time to look at it from other's points of spectacle, as I am quite convinced you have never experienced enthusiasm out of the US
I believe people from away see for the sun, palm trees, beach, and the "beautiful people". the weather also have something to do with it for sure...at most minuscule in So. Cal. you bring summer 8 months of the year and the rest of the year is Spring with a tear of Fall. It is a huge melting pot of relations and Im thankful for that and growing up beside lots of different people around me.
they do move to those places. they report feeling more meet here/
Because California has such a long tradition of . . . cosmopolitancy? Cosmopolitanity? Cosmpolitanism?

California begin with a gold ingots rush. People came here not lately from all over the country but adjectives over the world. When it became a state a moment ago a year later, here were no 'first families', no land aristocracy, no 'old money'. Everyone was pretty much duplicate. So the situation was really democratic. And we remain that way to this light of day.

Every language is spoken somewhere surrounded by California. Every kind of clothes is worn here. Every class of food is eaten here. And afterwards there's the great climate. If you were a foreigner, where on earth would -you- want to live?
