How would you compare Houston to other cities you've lived contained by?

If you could change something in the order of Houston, what would it be?

Answers:
Too many cars, to tons people, tons of road work, boring as hell, and unpromising drainage when it rains it floods.
A hell of a lot cleaner than NYC, and the populace are friendlier too. Everything that stands still is NOT spraypainted here in Houston. We don't own winter (NY does, and it is a dirty, gray snow).

What would I change? The humidity. I use a ton of stuff explicitly almost shellac to keep my curls neat and combed.

EDIT: By the path, Mizzzzhollywood is a twit who hates Houston because she can't find a chore.
I lived in Fort Lauderdale and I can narrate you that people surrounded by Houston are a lot friendlier! I used to abominate saying hi to those and never getting a hello back. People are so rude within S. Florida. The cost of living is so much cheaper! I couldnt even buy a 1 bedroom condo for $160,000 unless I lived in Lauderhill which is so ghetto. One point that I definitely decision that Houston had be a nice beach. I miss South Beach!
I've lived in NYC, Paris, Palm Beach, Washington DC & Houston. It took me a few years but I've cultured to appreciate it's good points..low cost of living, friendly ancestors, great, inexpensive restaurants, good private school.

I'm with the others wish for a cleaner beach (yea, I know, it's a gulf), smaller number humidity, less traffic, etc.
I love Houston, I've never lived anywhere else but I've visit and there is no place approaching home! If I could change something within Houston it would be to build better streets to stop flooding!
I would say, smaller amount crime and Houston definatley has a funk around it. Plant more good smelly flowers.
I've lived contained by Houston and Philadelphia and then Houston again because I missed it so much. The citizens are much friendlier in Houston than within Philly, you dont have to suffer through a winter, we own a beach (maybe spawn it white sand if I could change something), also another strong point is the MEXICAN FOOD (which you cant take in Philly) its really good here and the housing is cheap.

The entity I would change around Houston is make it closer to other huge cities (like Philly) so we would have more museums to move about to and more places to see. Also our mass transit system is a joke. We have need of a more expansive system to cut down on traffic.
Evening and morning and lunch hour traffic it really bad.. I would revise the hurry everyone is in to take nowhere any faster than I do..they come flying by you just for you to detain them at the next lighting..
Too boring, not plenty tourist spots, too spread out, fake friendliness, not adequate universities for a city of its size, too pro-business, not satisfactory culture.
I would switch locations next to Denver Colorado or Portland Maine so they weather was a filthy sticky bug complete sauna with pollution.

I am from Fairbanks & if I could find work up near to support me in the deportment in which I enjoy been accustomed I would Love to progress back within,

Houston may have be great 20 years ago but acording to most it's gotten real ghetto & the influx of New Orleans refugee really screwed houston up worse.

I lived in Seattle briefly which is pretty but be sure you have a mac, umbrella & Boots lol.

Denver kicks butt & so does Fairbanks, esp within the winter!
The traffic, the gansters, and ...did i mention the traffic other than that "theres no place resembling home"
Traffic is really the worst article about Houston. Interstates stacked three and four high-ranking... "Rush Hour" is "Rush Hours"... its not really that good.
I have lived contained by Dallas and Austin. Now in the Houston nouns (The Woodlands) for going on 5 years. All the cities have some similarities and even so some very creative qualities roughly each.

If I could tweaking something about Houston. I would engineer Houston have zoning law. That drives me nuts to see tall bureau buildings next to house.

I would want that Galveston was more approaching Mexico beaches and that clear blue sea.

Also, would lower the humidity rate. A girl just can't just get a polite hair morning around here.

I would also have Houstonians stop giving me a thorny time about my Cowboys. I will be more than thrilled to support the Texans when they are not playing my boys.
I wish the shore was closer and cleaner.
I've be here for 2 yrs., and I can honestly say that Houston is the most boring place within the U.S. And they always look at what other cities are doing, and later copy. Everyone born and raised here have fake speech. They try to salt away their accents, but it doesn't work. And rather frankly, this really isn't a tourist town. It's really a wannabe NYC, and Galveston is a wannabe Long Island.
