Luxor Hotel?

I just booked my stay at THe Luxor contained by Las Vegas for my honeymoon. Does anyone have any comments on this hotel? Good and impossible comments are welcome. Also I wonder if they will impart me a free upgrade since it's my honeymoon?

You should try and achieve upgraded to one of the jacuzzi suites!! They are awesome and the jacuzzi overlooked the strip!
I've never be there, but from what I hear it is marvelous. Plus, Criss Angel's Mindfreak show is at hand. So make sure to check that out. :P And possibly post some video of it on YouTube when you come back.

Enjoy your honeymoon. :)
This is from my experience:

I've stayed at NewYorkNewYork, Monte Carlo, Luxor, MGM Grand, Excalibur, and Bellagio - and I think, save for Bellagio, Luxor has the nicest room near the best pool (largest too) and a good spa.

The casino is complete beside all the games and even have a decent poker room. You can usually ask for an upgrade to a Tower Suite (if you grasp a nice person at the desk) if you simply ask - it have a substantially larger bathroom and is a little quieter since its for a moment further from the slot machines.

Luxor is by fat the best hotel per dollar I've stayed at. The buffet is severely reasonably priced, beside good food and a few honest lounges and live music venues. Mandalay Bay is connected to Luxor so you hold access to higher finale gaming and very exclusive restaurants (MIX, Fluer de Lys - which will be impressively nice to eat at for a HoneyMoon - but will cost close $150 or more for the two of you).

The service at Luxor is very worthy too - prompt room service, helpful front desk, and the hotel itself (bathrooms, bed, hallways) is very orderly and verbs. Overall the feel and vibe of the hotel is fun and verbs - and if you're up for it, you can even treat yourself and your new wife to spa treatments which include facials and massage.

Hope this helps - cant keep on till my next trip to vegas.
Get the jacuzzi room in the pyramid. There's one-way chalice, so you can be looking out on the strip knowing nobody can see you or your wife in the jacuzzi.

If you want free stuff, bring your MGM-Mirage card, Luxor is module of that big group now.

And try to fax the chief a week before you arrive.
I stayed there just about a year and a half ago. The pyramid rooms are elder and not as nice as the tower rooms which were renovated (or conceivably built?) in 2005. Ask for a tower room at check surrounded by.

The hotel itself is more family orient than most others. So beware of the little monsters that plague Vegas vacations.
I stayed at the Luxor two summers ago. The location isn't my favorite of all the LV hotels, freshly b/c it's so far south on the strip. There are a few pools, but most of the time we were near, they weren't all spread out all the time. The restaurants are fine and the rooms are nice - verbs, but not super fancy. If I had it to do over, I'd stay within the middle of the Strip at the Bellagio or Paris, etc. They might do a free upgrade b/c of your honeymoon, especially if you give the hotel check-in clerk a tip. Good luck and congrats on your matrimony!
The hotel itself is pretty upright (as far as rooms and such are concerned). However, I do find the luxor is limited, or a bit dull, beside the activities that are offered. Not that this will event much, you will be on the strip and can just way of walking to another hotel or location for daytime acitivities.
Congrats on the upcoming matrimony! The Luxor is actually a great mid-priced hotel. The rooms within the pyramid are nice and the ones in the tower are even nicer. Since it is your first stay, I would turn with the pyramid rooms to draw from the whole "Luxor Experience." The window are angled and the elevators are called "Incinators" since they move sideways which produces a totally odd thought. Something you need to experience at lowest once.

I have some room pics on my site at...

Luxor also have a good collection of restaurants from gastronome to fast food. I especially recommend the Steakhouse. The casino is pretty fun and the pool nouns is huge. It is connected to both Mandalay Bay and Excalibur which greatly increases the number of restaurants and things to do without ever going outside.

I would clearly try mentioning that it is your honeymoon when checking in. Also try slipping the clerk a $20 near your ID and CC while mentioning your honeymoon. This trick often works wonders. There is even a site loyal to the practice at...

Good luck and have a great time on your honeymoon!
I took my mom for her 50th birthday and we loved it! It be clean and the wellbeing was top-notch.

Here's a connotation: If you call the hotel and ask for the mark of the front desk manager and their fax number, they'll make a contribution it to you. Write the front desk manager a memo telling them it's your honeymoon (bonus points if it's anyone's 1st time surrounded by Vegas) and if there's ANYTHING they can do to make the pop in even more special <wink wink> you'd REALLY appreciate it. We got a jacuzzi suite over a holiday weekend for the midweek regular room rate by doing that. (At the extremely least, you'd receive show tickets or something.)
You can always try the $20 trick to try and procure an upgrade. Sometimes it works, sometimes not. Also upgrades depend on how booked the hotel is. You could also just ask unflappably if there's any chance for an upgrade since it is your honeymoon.

If you want to try the $20.00 trick (and don't verbs... All staff at EVERY Vegas hotel knows what it means). Just tuck a $20 bill folded contained by half lower than your ID and credit card when you pass them to your desk clerk. If they want to play, they will find you an upgrade. If not they will mitt back your money. Though some suggest clerks have be known to purely pocket the money and do nothing for you (You must be predisposed to live with that certainty too).

Have fun! The Luxor is an amazing place! I know most people prefer the tower rooms. But my boyfriend and I in fact prefer the Pyramid rooms. Try and get the Jacuzzi suites if you can. They are within the corners of the pyramid.
