1) Soho definitely! It is the best nouns for shopping and the coolest area. You can find adjectives the brand name stores plus small shoppings offering unbelievably unique clothes and items.
2) Lower East Side resembling Ludlow, Rivington. It is the hot new nouns and there are tons cool store there.
3) Check H&M soaring fashion and cheap! the best one if on Fifth Avenue and 50th Street. There is also H&M stores surrounded by Soho (Broadway), Union Square (5th Avenue & 18th Street), and on 34th corner of 6th Avenue.
4) You may also check the big shoppings (I dont like to shop within b/c i find boring), such as Macys (34th & 7th Ave), Saks (5th Ave & 49th St), Bloomingdales (Lexington & 58th Street).
5) Zara (in Soho on Broadway, Lex & 58th St, and 34th & 6th Ave). Great clothes for good prices.

Macy's is a good place. 10 floors full of everything you could consider.
There's Century 21, which is Downtown, that sells cheap designer clothes.
5th Avenue is righteous if you want really high-end stuff.
There are also other places like H&M, Gap, etc.
