I am looking for free or cheep things to do near two teenagers? In southern california?
My boyfriends kids are comming into town between christmas and new years. they are going to want to do things to. but bread is tight with cristmas and adjectives. we need suggestions on places to move about and things to see with them. Anything within sothern california

the beach. shopping. purely take them down to the strand or hermosa seaside and set them free. teenagers are pretty creative, and in socal its frozen not to find something going on.

The seaside is free...so is hiking. I would also suggest going to see the light display in the vicinity Griffith park...it is free as well. What in the region of the Rose Parade in Pasadena on New Years daytime...also free.

Try hiking Cowles Mountain. It's pretty trouble-free and offers a nice estimation. Cedros Design District in Solana Beach is fun for shopping. There's a nice strip within Del Mar too. The San Diego Zoo, of course, does not disappoint- it's world class.
Joshua Tree rock climbing is so fitting it draws travelers from around the world, Death Valley is a huge playground for jeeping but not in the summer, San Jacincto is full of great hiking trails and newly north of the great romantic getaway town of Idyllwild, San Gorgonio hiking is beautiful and intense adequate to use as training for Mt Whitney, Mt Woodson is a nice morning hike full of cool bouldering problems.

People are camping out and have fun, and it's a great vibe. Bring your marshmallows, because you never know when a marshmallow war might break out!

Disneyland: The Happiest Place on Earth. Half a billion visitors can’t be wrong. (Sometimes it seem all at once)
Universal Studios: A matter park that grew out of a studio tour. Check out eBay. You can find some discounted tickets there. And Universal City Walk is a fun place to dangle out in the evening after your sunshine inside the park.
Hollywood: Hollywood Boulevard is ready for its close-up, thankfulness to years of urban renewal and renovation. Enjoy the Walk of Fame, Entertainment Museum, Mann's Theatre and more. You can see a lot for free. I hold also added the Hollywood & Highland complex to my top ten list… it has lots of shops and restaurants, and the Kodak Theater (home of the Academy Awards). I approaching the El Capitan theater, because it has be restored to its former glory, unlike the Chinese, which was essentially gutted and turned into a multiplex.
Rodeo Drive, 90210: Packed near exclusive shops, full of gawkers. They all come to enjoy the excess. Free, unless you intend to buy something.
Venice Beach: Los Angeles kitsch and over-the-top culture at its best.
Here you'll find Muscle Beach, street performer and tacky shops galore.
Fun, VERY interesting, but I avoid it after ominous, when it gets a touch TOO interesting for my taste. And it's a short bike ride from:
Santa Monica Beach and Pier: Great seaside scene and a classic seaside amusement park, complete with antique carousel that have been surrounded by a lot of TV and movies. (The Sting and "Three's Company" come straight to mind).
After visiting the pier, you can ride a bike south a couple miles to Venice Beach.
Santa Monica Third Street Promenade - Downtown Santa Monica's shopping promenade is commonly the scene of movie star-sightings. Just a short walk from the Santa Monica Pier.
Sunset Boulevard: Perhaps one of the world's most high up streets, it began as a route between the stars' posh neighborhoods and the Hollywood studios. It runs from downtown to the the deep, passing through the "Sunset Strip" on its passageway. It makes for a fun drive. Along the route, you see a lot of different neighborhoods. Hollywood, West Hollywood, Bel Air, and Pacific Palisades. When you carry to the ocean, stop at Gladstone's for Fish.
Queen Mary: Once the largest ship afloat, she's be docked in Long Beach for longer than she sail, and her elegance never fail to impress. Free to visit. You can in actuality stay on board, for a price.
Farmers Market and The Grove - A brand new shopping complex right next to a Los Angeles signpost, The Grove and Farmers Market coexist. Enjoy a movie or shopping, then bring the trolley to the Farmers Market for lunch or dinner.
Farmer's Market is right next to CBS, so totter across the lot to see if they are taping "The Price is Right". You might even take in.
Griffith Park - Home of the Los Angeles Zoo, Griffith Park Observatory, Travel Town, the Greek Theatre, and Gene Autry Museum of Western Heritage.
Getty Museum - The Getty's architecture is so superb that it keeps me fascinated. No thing whether you like their art or architecture better (or possibly you'll just delight in the view), the Getty is sure to please. Free.

You acquire the full Disney experience. If you don't need to stay by the park, next stay at the Doubletree on Harbor, or even the one in Orange on Chapman.
In Santa Monica, the Holiday Inn Santa Monica is close to the pier and justifiably priced.
