What is near to do surrounded by Miami Florida?
Never been, sounds similar to fun. Any advice from seasoned travelers or locals.

Get drunk. Party, and then forget what you've done. It's great.
You can go to some malls similar to Dolphin mall, that hold a lot of things to do
you can stumble upon someone famous, and you can turn to the beach
You can travel to Orlando- Florida, that's only 4 or 5 hours from Miami

I grew up in Miami and couldn't hang about to get out. The crime rate is staggering and the associates are rude and it's too hot 9 months out of the year not to mention the humidity is 100% all the time. I live close by Portland Oregon now and love it. Oh yeah, THE BUGS!
Formula for travelling to unknown places: buy the ticket, arrive, check into the hotel and afterwards head out to explore. If you involve a list of recommended places/things to do, you aren't terribly adventurous or you don't know how to use the internet for research.
The seaside is great. and after that its all bar, eateries and not much else...
The art decco area is ok, though usually remarkably crowded and anything out side of the main drag ie downtown miami is not the nouns any right minded person would call round.
If you are looking for sites, and fun, then Biscayne creek, which is the south end of Miami is the place to be in motion.. You have to clear a small toll to drive along Biscayne road but it is well worth it for the beach and natural make-up.
shop guzzle lounge on the beach and carry drunk at night at hand are no real attractions and miami wouldnt be my first choice for break.
