Good salon- Salon Thalia... pricy but they brand name you feel approaching a princess and make you look better than Angelina... bubbles is another honest salon, more reasonable contained by price...

check these out individually to see what you're more into
good luck
You should try to priceline a hotel within center city, once settled in you can cranium on over to toppers spa on 19th st, theres a lot of nice restaurants downtown resembling capital grill, mccormicks and schmidts and a bunch of others you can google. For dark life, you can embezzle a cab down to olde city where on earth there are a ton of upscale bar and clubs to go to. Have fun.
This is my hometown so I'm so excited you guys are thinking of visiting! The most distinguished spa in the city is Toppers. www.toppersspa.com. It's one of those places that profusely of locals go to for special occasion. It's a bit snooty, but if you're on vacation, who care? It's also big enough to accommodate your group adjectives at once. You can also try Blue Mercury.

Philly has lately become known for fine dining beside lots of famous chefs as very well as smaller intimate byo bistros.

Depending on your age, there are 2 great areas for nightlife. Mid-20s and younger crowd like Old City for the bars and clubs. But here are also lots of great bistros along Market Street that locals of all ages love. That's the nouns of the city that is closest to the waterfront. Lots of bar and restaurants along Market Street from Front Street up to 4th Street. The area go south of Market Street to Chestnut Street. Very crowded and very trendy. Because everything is so close together, it's the best place to turn club hopping. It's also the best place to stay to walk to the historic sites similar to Independence Hall at 5th & Chestnut. It's very enormously crowded here on weekend nights.

For a slightly elder crowd, there's the Rittenhouse Square area. That's the nouns of Walnut Street from Broad Street west to about 18th Street. This is where on earth all the high-end shops are located. Also big end restaurants resembling Cuba de Alma and Striped Bass. ($$$ and reservations required but well worth it) There are also bar and clubs here, but these are often disguised and unless you know where on earth you're going, you could walk right by one w/o knowing it's a club. Toppers Spa and Blue Mercury are within this area.

A lot of tourists budge to South Street (between 2nd Street and 9th Street). But locals, unless they live in the neighborhood avoid it. It's too crowded beside unruly teenagers, and feels downright unsafe after bleak. If you really want to check it out for it's funky punk shops (although there's a Gap too) check it out during the day. Also avoid the clubs at Penn's Landing. Full of tourists and culture from the suburbs who don't know any better. and because the clubs are so far apart, very unsafe to step club hopping.

Enjoy your stay. sorry I can't really give you hotel philosophy since I'm a local and have never needed a hotel. Hope you resembling the city as much as all the locals do!
if you stir to www.gophila.com they have a "philly's more fun when you sleep over" carton. It gets you discounts on hotel rooms, restaurants, museums, and adjectives kinds of stuff.
