Border crosser for an 18 year frail?
I'm an 18 year old american born citizen living contained by canada and i don't have mt canadian papers but i want to dance back to the states by landscape but i don't have photo self and i only hold my birth certificate from fresh york city i have a arts school id from canada thats in the order of it. I really need to run back home so i can jump to university. Can someone help me ? I be told by the border people that children 18 and lower than only obligation proof of citizenship. Is that that true also? I'm going the last week of August to my dads surrounded by Raleigh, north Carolina.

Right now, a gov't issued photo I.D. and a birth permit are needed to cross the border, BUT, by August the requirement for PASSPORTS will likely be enforced. So...you entail to go to the nearest American embassy or consulate and apply for an American passport. See site below for the inventory of these places. Need to do this as soon as possible and get this taken carefulness of. If you were UNDER 18 at the time of crossing the border and be ACCOMPANIED by a parent, you could get by near just a birth ticket for now...but would still involve a passport after JUNE. So, what this boils down to is that you NEED a passport. Best to go apply for a passport soon as possible. Hope adjectives works out well for you.
EDIT..Don't know where on earth my brain was... The passport reg.for house travel will not be implemented til summer 2009...not THIS summer. Anyway. getting a passport NOW is in actuality the best solution for you as you do not have a gov't issued photo I.D.
