How's Atlanta, GA during Christmas time?
Is it a good time to call in? Would it be too cold to walk around for Southern Californian? If I wanna pop in the Georigia Aquarium and do some shopping, which hotel should I stay at? Also, what should I expect? Is it a nice city or ghetto city?
Thanks so much in credit!

I smile when I read your question because I grew up contained by Orange County, CA (Fountain Valley and Mission Viejo) and I froze my butt off my first winter within Georgia in 1997-98 when I moved here. One of the first things my girlfriend (now wife) and I did when it started to obtain cold was step buy me a heavy Raiders coat at Starter Outlet store and gloves. She's a Georgia home-grown and was used to it.
The weather this leak so far has be weird so who know what will happen subsequent month. It was within the mid to upper 60s yesterday and normal is contained by the 50s.
But if it gets cold, remember this story that happen to me like 3 years ago when I flew out to see my parents. I get into San Diego and my parents took me out to eat. It be in the upper 50s nearby. I got out of the sports car at the restaurant we went to downtown and my mom said, "Shouldn't you attain your coat?" I had a short sleeve shirt on. I looked at her and said, "Mom, when I get on the plane it was 24 degree in Atlanta. This is a boil wave for me."
What is cold to a southern Californian is thaw to people within the south and what is cold to a Southerner is Arctic to a southern Californian until you get used to it.
A favorite hotel of mine is The Embassy Suites and at hand is one in Atlanta unbelievably close to the Aquarium...which is near the Dome for sport events and/or concerts. There is a Ruth Chris's Steak House right subsequent door for fine dining as well.
Atlanta is not a city that you want to amble around alone...or even a couple, late at darkness. Like any big city today, there are the nice places and the ghetto parts as all right. Taxis are all over the place and not too expensive. MARTA, our subway, runs essential the Dome and can take you to abundant major areas.
When I lived surrounded by Los Angeles, we would go down to the little park on the sand just south of LAX surrounded by El Segundo and camp out...and I can remember have to use my furnace on the Fourth of July as it was so cold! So, purely bring your normal winter stuff near you, chances are it won't be any worse than what you're already used to...heck I can remember Christmas holidays here contained by Atlanta where I have to run my A/C at home too!
It is cold. If u want to walk outside, u call for to wear winter clothes. There are a number of open out ice ring to skate if u resembling that kind of stuff. It is a nice city next to a lot of nice houses. I consider summer is a better time to visit contained by my opinion.
Atlanta is wonderful at Christmas time. It is quite chilly here. You are not going to want to do much walking around at dark, it is too cold.brrrrr. There are many things to do here. If you want to strictly stay inwardly the downtown area near aren't as many things to do. The Aquarium is a huge attraction here. Atlanta is the home of Coca-Cola, so they enjoy a whole museum here. CNN is headquartered here, they hold tours of that. Stone Mountain is close to downtown. They have a full Christmas Village with a laser show on the mountain, carolers, train ride around the mountain, etc... Lenox Mall would probably be the closest shopping precinct (higher end stores).
There are so frequent hotels downtown... I would just progress to hotels.com to get ratings.
It is a nice city, especially during the sunshine. I wouldn't walk around alone at darkness there. As near all cities here are certain areas you want to avoid. Atlanta have amazing restaurants and nightlife, just do a touch research first.
If you do venture outside the city stay north of downtown Altanta. The southside is "super alarming!!". Drive by's, etc...
I live on the northside of Atlanta and it is wonderful!
YES BUT IT IS VERY COLD ! UM WELL YEAH CUZ I USED TO LIVE THEIR AND WHEN I MOVED TO ATL I WUZ LIKE WAT IN THE WORLD ! A HOTEL THAT IS VERY CHEAP AND SOMEWHERE THAT IS SMACK IN THE MIDDLE OF EVERYTHING ! IT'S MANY PLACES TO VISIT . IT IS A VERY NICE AREA
