Do you really want a nice coup¨¦ if you are to settle within LA..?
People here tell me that you can't live within LA without a vehicle, is that true?
Answers:
You can, but it's VERY difficult. Places are far apart, and the buses are slow. Rail service is simply in a few places.
It depends on your lifestyle.
If you live practical your work, and/or ride a bicycle, you might not need one. But if work and flat are far apart, AND/OR if you approaching to get out and more or less town around a bit; like to the coast, the park or some other outdoor activity, you may find that a motor is necessary to do the things you want to do.
And while a nice motor isn't a prerequisite, it's always suitable to have as nice a vehicle as you can afford. The nicer the car, mostly the more reliable it will be, and of course, the ladies are more amenable to riding surrounded by a nicer car than a not-so-nice one.
I don't own a vehicle, and I live in L.A.
I meander or ride my bike everywhere. And I work three blocks from where I live.
Yes it is outstandingly true. Unless you live and work within a mile of eachother. But the city does not hold good public transportation, it take about 3 hours to travel from one end of LA to the other surrounded by a car. And various Western US citys are not friendly or used to people on bikes so at hand wont be any place to lock it up etc. Its not like NY at ALL its lately a giant suburb. And there is not great metro/train system for gettign aroundeither
You dont entail a nice car, but you do entail a car.
You don't want a NICE car...but you do obligation A car. Everything is spread out within LA. Freeways are a part of time. So is ridiculous parking (depending on where you're headed). I'd recommend you spend your money a fuel rationalized car and/or on sports car insurance...people here can be crazed by traffic jam and don't always drive 'friendly'. More specifically, they enjoy a tendency NOT to use their turn signals on the freeway. Am I right??
Unfortunately, this is a freeway survival tactic. If you use your turn signal, everyone else tries to elapse you. However, if you don't use your turn signal you may or may not end up surrounded by an 8 car pile up on the 405.
Yes, freeway survival. But you still requirement a car.
Depends on what you do near job, and social comings and goings. Greater Los Angeles is very spread out beside things to do in a 30 or 40 mile radius. Traffic is grim in most of greater Los Angeles. Stay on the fringe of LA near home and job. I resembling the beach communities surrounded by South Bay, south of LAX.
Click the Traffic button at maps.google.com for traffic status.
no
no that's not true...but if you ever decide to live contained by L.A, don't get a saloon. Believe me, you can get where on earth your going quicker without a motor. Traffic is horrible in L.A!
You obligation a car contained by LA. It is your status symbol. Economical used car is adequate. Time is money sometimes there.
In fixture, public transportation in hours of darkness may invite you a lot of peril.
No it isn't true. There is public transport.
For every person that have a nice car.in attendance are many more who do not. We solely have one vehicle...we have 4 kids & I believe that it would be irresponsible to own a 2nd car...especially because next to a family of 6 we call for a large one. I use MTA and OCTA a great deal. I also use my "Chevrolegs" a lot. It also depends on your commute. I live surrounded by OC & enjoy going to places around my home. However, I enjoy taken MTA all the channel to Griffith park before next to no problem. I have see an increase in MTA and OCTA users immediately that the gas prices are so bad (even though they are conversation about dropping some of their routes).
no i depends where on earth you live..lots of neighbourhoods are well served by public transport.
honestly, yes. it really depends on your lifestyle. i instinctively had a difficult time commuting on the public transit because my conservatory and job be across town from one another. most ppl i know would say you can't live contained by LA if you don't drive, or at least not comfortably. everyone wishes a car.
