Does anyone know some really traditional and modern daytime Hawaiian music?

I'm looking for both traditional and modern day Hawaiian music! I'm have a luau and I want it to be really authentic. If you know any good reggae as powerfully I would love to hear about it! THANK YOU!!

Iz has great albums. So does Keali'i Reichel. There is lots of them out nearby, check in the Hawaiian sector, it is a combination of old beside new.
check out danyo cummings on youtube
he's pretty adept!

i love his version of "Is near a Place"

i also suggest:
The Opihi Pickers, and
Ho'okoa (i love their song, Never Leave your Side)
Elvis sings Blue hawaii and others

Don Ho

Brother Iz..somewhere over the rainbow

Keali'i Reichel. love his music
You'll really close to Justin Young's song "One Foot on Sand". I think you'll also close to "Ke Aloha No Waipi'o" by Tapa Groove & Weldon Kekauoha. iTunes has an "Essentials" detail called "Hawaiian Music" beside a fairly solid pedigree.

I be going to recommend a good compilation album from roughly speaking 5 years back, but it's out of print. Ooo! But the sequel is available for purchase from mele.com. This is a dutiful representative sample, and you can listen to sample at the first link below.

I live on the Most Hawaiian Island of Molokai, and I'd endeavour to guess that what we consider to be an authentic luau over here would not be recognizable to you as a luau. So, forget roughly speaking authenticity, and just hold fun!
Look up Israel Kamakawiwaole, Keali'i Reichel...

And I suggest the song "Fish and Poi!"
there enjoy been profoundly of suggestions on here, but one i haven't heard is king kekai. he have some good celebration songs like h's up and green bottles. check out his myspace.
For traditional I suggest Isreal Kamakawiwaole, Makaha Sons, Keali'i Reichel, Gabby Pahinui, Denis Pavao, Na Palapalai, Ho'okena, and Hapa. For a more modern local style of music, try Willie K, Ekolu, Sean Na'au'ao, Pound for Pound, Three Plus, Darrel Labrado, Fiji, and Robi Kahakalau. Good reggae, check out Jr. Gong (Damien Marley- I love 'Welcome to Jamrock'), UB40, Rebelution ('Attention Span' and 'Safe and Sound' are my faves), Kymani Marley, Collie Budz, and as expected the king, Bob Marley.

EDIT: Wow, I went to academy with Daniel (Danyo). Never thought I'd see someone mention him on here. Kapaa High, c/o 2003.
