Everett's divided into 19 neighbourhoods. You can see what the boundaries are of respectively and read about them here - http://www.ci.everett.wa.us/default.aspx... I bought a house contained by the Rucker Hill area of the Port Gardner village last year and so far I love it here. Very friendly associates, quiet, close to downtown and express access to I-5 as well. Most of the homes are in good health maintained 1900-1920's Craftsman homes beside lots of character and abundantly with great mountain view of the Cascades.

Are you looking to buy or rent? There's some new townhomes and condos currently for public sale and more will be built in a current development only just East of I-5 by 41st Street. Whether you're looking for a house or a condo http://www.johnlscott.com is a good site to investigate for homes. I can hook you up with my realtor from in that as well if you want.

As for renting seriously of homes here are rentals. You can find listings for them at http://www.heraldnet.com/section/HOMES If you find a particular fact list and want to know if it's in a clothed area only just email and I'll let you know.

Everett's absolutely going through a transition. It used to be a mill town and a lot of areas a bit dodgy. But it's really better quite a bit. Downtown's get the Everett Events Center with concerts, the Everett Silvertips hockey troop here, Aquasox baseball. New shops and restaurants. That same area I mentioned by 41st they're roughly to start building a huge new shopping nouns with a deluxe theater and adjectives kinds of cool shops. And beside housing prices still affordable the time is now if you want to buy - it sure won't be long till home prices drop here just resembling they have contained by King County.

Other poster - thanks for insulting my town! I ensue to have a great home beside 180 degree view of the mountains, great neighbours and I hold a position on my neighbourhood association. So you don't know everything - sounds close to you're just looking for business!
There are two cities in recent times North of Everett...Marysville and Arlington. Both are much more affordable than Everett, and they have several planned communities that are superlative for raising a clan!

I moved from SD to Marysville with my husband and 3 small children 6 years ago. Now I trade real estate up here, and own helped copious military families relocate. With great property values and lower crime rates, Marysville is the town that most of my clients hold preferred.

Good luck with your relocation...the military family up here are very supportive.

you can E-mail me if you want more info in the past your move...maps, neighborhood profiles etc...
Love your name...HAHA! I'm up here for indistinguishable reason! To be honest next to you, stay out of Everett and away from Casino Rd. North Lynnwood is really nice. Are you thinking of PPV, renting or buying? PPV I would say Carroll's Creek within Smokey Point. Renting, again, N. Lynnwood is nice and also for buying. I can't stress enough; Everett not the greatest. BTW - I miss So. Cal.

Good Luck!

Let me know if you stipulation any more help. I love it up here!
Lynnwood - check out Alderwood Mall.
There are solely two areas I'd avoid in Everett ...

1) The Casino Road neighborhood

2) Anything right practical the downtown core in North Everett

Those are both higher-crime areas and the neighborhoods aren't adjectives that great. But even in North Everett, if you draw from just a couple of blocks away from downtown and/or away from Broadway there's a big modification.

I would check out the various neighborhoods and housing prices, approaching the first answerer suggested. You're going to have to match what you can afford, where you have a feeling safe, and distance from NS Everett. You may conclude up having to trade distance for safekeeping and affordability, so be open to neighborhoods within Everett that aren't right near the stand, or going to a neighboring town such as Marysville or Lynnwood. I can't speak for Lynnwood, but in Marysville I would avoid anything downtown west of the railroad or anything right on a most important traffic route. Good luck with the move!
The military housing is located north of Everett near the commissary complex (about 10 blocks from my house). If you plan to attain govt. housing, I assume that is whre you will be living. I agree, avoid Casino Rd. approaching the plague and Holly Drive area too. Marysville is nice.
Gotta agree near the others - Stay away from Casino Road, and you'll probably be OK.

If you are looking to buy, you'll get more house for your money if you are feeling like to be further out. Marysville area have a Naval Support Complex at Smokey point with a comissary, exchange etc. that make it easier to live further north.

Lynwood is OK, but there are also nice places within South Everett near Silver Lake, and contained by Mill Creek and Mukilteo. Much depends on whether you are renting or buying, and what your budget will be.
