Why is it that when anyone not from Houston asks in the order of Houston, the individuals from here brag around the size?
In other words, why is it that when someone talks next to someone else who is born and raised here, the being from Houston brags about the size or population? There are other cities bigger than Houston.
Answers:
When someone asks how high-ceilinged you are and you answer honestly, are you bragging? If someone asks about your hometown and how big or small it is, is that a measure of your own self esteem? And logically, there are numerous cities world far-reaching larger than Houston. No rocket science involved there.

is it bragging or are they a moment ago pointing out the large population? lot of culture in the U.S. don't realize houston is so big, so it's worth mentioning. evidently new york, chicago and LA are mode bigger, so why brag?
Not singular that, the ridiculous thing is, who care if Houston's city limits are so significant? It's not like the downtown nouns is that big. When everyone said, "Houston is 600 square miles, bla bla bla," I expected some big downtown. But instead it's like 5 skyscrapers and that's it. Downtown is NOTHING. The rest of "Houston" is deeply suburbs. Big deal. Your city is a fungus! Congratulations!
And next when you ask for someone to explain why it's such a big thing that the city restrictions are large, it's close to that scene in Spinal Tap when Nigel is going on in the order of the amp going to 11 instead of 10.

Houston have the second largest area of any city surrounded by the United States (the largest is Jacksonville, FL).
There are three cities larger in population (NY, Chicago, LA), but nowhere in the vicinity the physical size.

People notify others because Houston is not what they expect. When you came here, didn't you expect tumbleweeds, folks riding horses, and the usual western stuff? I don't know one caller or newbie in Houston that didn't articulate, "I had no theory how big Houston was." Landing at Intercontinental (which is surrounded by woods and trees) Airport add to the surprise when they get on the freeway and read aloud, "Where'd all this come from?" If they land at Hobby they'd see it all.

yea there are cities bigger but not copious in the us. and when general public talk more or less there home town they speech about how big it is.

What is your problem with Houston? You seem to have a dislike for the city. If you are an developed there is zilch forcing you to stay there. My suggestion to you is to find another city and/or state to live contained by.
