How much will it cost?
Hi again ive found a cheap deal but the hotel is contained by newark 8 miles away from new york does anyone know if it will be graceful to get to nyc and how much? I want to call on the bronx zoo, ground zero, empire state building and some other places will i be capable of do this in two days?
Answers:
Newark is cheap, but bring a gun. You'll need it.
Why not consider a hostel? Sounds close to you'll be doing so much in two days that you'll newly need a place to sleep, so it won't hold to be fancy.

You can definately do ground zero, the empire state building and a few other things contained by one day. I'd suggest you buy your ticket to the state building within advance as the lines in attendance could be long. Or consider the the citypass: http://www.citypass.com/city/ny.html.
And if you're even thinking about seeing the Statue of Liberty...later definately buy in finance. That line is crazy.
The Bronx Zoo is a full hours of daylight thing, at lowest what I remember of it from elementary school trips. Unless you enjoy your heart set on it, I'd say skip it surrounded by favor of other things like the museums or basically wondering around the city on foot. New York is a wonderful city for walking and you endorse so many interesting places: the Village, Chinatown, Times Square, Central Park, etc.
Hope you enjoy a fun trip to NY!
Don't stay in Newark, it's too far away from what you're looking for. Try and look for hotels contained by Manhattan, it's going to be expensive, but if you're on a budge I'd recommend skipping NY altogether. NY is torture if you're on a budget.
You can do adjectives that in 2 days as long as you DON'T stay contained by Newark. Look at places in Manhattan. There are some deal out there if you don't mind staying contained by a hotel with sharred bathrooms. Newark is too out of the means of access.
If you are staying within downtown Newark, i.e. by the train station you're okay. It's a 15 minute train ride into Manhattan. But if you're staying near the airport (where I know the hotel rates are really worthy buys) it could be a problem getting back and forth to Manhattan. But if the hotel have a shuttle service to the airport, you can go at hand and catch a bus into Manhattan - they depart every few minutes. Figure $15 dollars or so one-way. For planning purposes I would allow at least possible an hour and a half from the time you set off your hotel until the bus drops you off within Manhattan.
Have you considered staying in Jersey City? There are some hotels on the waterfront where on earth you can get the PATH trains into Manhattan as capably, which is very convenient and a quibble at $2.00 one-way. There is a Sheraton in Weehawkin, NJ located subsequent to the ferry dock ($10-15 one-way) that also would work other and shouldn't be AS expensive at Manhattan.
In Manhattan, have you tried the Chelsea Savoy Hotel? Also the Chandler and the Wolcott may be worth a look, within terms of price. They are adjectives close to mid-town and conveniently located.
For tour planning, figure almost a sunshine for the Bronx Zoo - it's a big place! Ground Zero is a 30 minute look. The Empire State Building can take hours depending on the crowd. Don't do it on a weekend! If you can time it right, be in motion first thing contained by the morning or after the dinner hour. As an alternative, you can go to the top of Rockefeller Center (GE Building) for view just as appropriate. Also at Rock Center the NBC Studio tour is fun. The tour includes a visit to the studio for Saturday Night Live. If in that is a live show that week, the best time for the tour is Sat afternoon when you can see them rehearsing.
Finally, if you want to see a Broadway show, go to the discount ticket booth "TKTS" as shows that are not sold out for that day's or evening's narration will have tickets usually at 50% sour.
Another fun thing is the Circle Line tour around Manhattan. The full circle is 3 hours but near is an abbreviated one that lasts an hour and partly that covers most everything.
You can find more information on all of the above mentioned places on the internet.
Do you KNOW why you were competent to find a "CHEAP DEAL" for a hotel in Newark? Because Newark is an EXTREMELY DANGEROUS PLACE TO STAY----in cap because it's a REALLY bad place. spend for a while extra money and stay in Manhattan---the Edison Hotel you might find a room for $100 a NIGHT (go on priceline.com) and it is freshly a few steps from Broadway and the center of Manhattan.Do NOT stay in Newark...!! win a subway map and ride the subways directly from the Edison hotel all around NYC to see adjectives the sites. Please be smart and do not stay in Newark
