Anyone know the cheapest hotel/motel that's on the Las Vegas Strip?
Planning a trip this summer, we won't have a rental saloon so walking distance to the strip is best. We figured we're gonna be spending most of the time at another casino resort anyway, so it doesn't issue where we stay.

Circus Circus... ive see it dirt cheap, and iver seen them offering gas cards if you come to stay. but if they enjoy to pay you... i dunno. you can find great deal if you look around for much better hotels. Try signing up on hotels websites and they will email you discounts
The problem with the Strip is that it's literally 4 miles from Mandalay Bay at the south shutting down and Stratosphere at the north. Since you'll be walking, the closer you are to Las Vegas Blvd and Flamingo Rd, the better. This is the intersection with Caesars Palace, Bellagio, Bally's and Bill's Gamblin' Hall on respectively corner. IMHO there are more interesting things inwardly reasonable walking distance from this corner than anywhere else on the Strip.

Cheapest actual strip hotel is the Sahara (www.saharavegas.com), hands down. I've stayed here twice and enjoyed it profoundly. On weekdays you can get rooms for $40-50, sometimes even lower than $40. The hotel is on the monorail, making it a short ride away from virtually all the other strip resorts (the $5 monorail payment is a drag, but you save greatly if you buy a book of tickets). Do a few travel search engine search and you'll find even lower rates than their advertised rates.
Sahara isn't fancy compared to the Venetian or Bellagio, but it have every standard amenity that all the hotels on the Strip provide. The pool is nice, not extraordinary, but really passable. They are also pretty high-minded with casino comps, and their Buffet is among the cheapest on the Strip as in good health.
Just north is the Stratosphere, which is generally the 2nd cheapest on the Strip. IMO, it's a slightly better hotel, next to a better pool, more bells & whistles, and nicer, newer rooms, but that long wander to the nearest monorail (the Sahara) might not be for you. Personally, I had no trouble beside it. You could also take a hackney cab rather than the monorail, but Strip traffic can be incurable and waste profusely of time and $.
If you absolutely HAVE to stay farther South on the strip, contained by the midst of all the goings-on, I'd check Bally's, the Excalibur, Imperial Palace, and the Luxor. They all hold slightly lower rates for the South Strip, but are usually double the price of the Sahara or Stratosphere. They also occasionally have honourable package deals-especially the Luxor.

Remember, if you're staying on a weekend, prices on even these low-priced hotels can dive from $40 to $160 (or higher) for the same room! If you can swing it, stay on Su-Th for the cheapest rates. To draw from a good hypothesis of the rate fluctuations, check a hotel's website for the upcoming months. These rate changes will be mirrored only just about everywhere else you look.
(BTW, I'm going to Vegas again within a couple months and have done deeply of research. I've also been several times contained by the past. We are staying downtown for the certain Saturday night, where on earth rates are about partly that of the cheapest Strip establishment. Main Street Station is one of the nicest downtown hotels, and still affordable. Fitzgerald's, not quite as nice though still OK, is selling Sat. rooms surrounded by the $65 range and weekday rooms adjectives the way down within the $30s. After Saturday, we are moving down to the Stratosphere for a sweet $45 rate.)

but if you want to stay essential the action I would stay the... Tropicana, Excalibur... both are hard by the main gathering of the strip, next to the MGM, NY NY, Mandalay Bay, and they are not that far from Paris and Bellagio.
