Start spreading the report
I'm leaving today
I want to be a bit of it
New York, New York

These vagabond shoes
Are longing to stray
Right through the incredibly heart of it
New York, New York

I wanna wake up contained by a city
That doesn't sleep
And find I'm king of the hill
Top of the pile

These little town blues
Are melting a course
I'll make a brand-new start of it
In old-fashioned New York

If I can make it here
I'll make it anywhere
It's up to you
New York, New York

New York, New York
I want to stir up
In a city that never sleeps
And find I'm a number one, top of the list
King of the mount, a number one

These little town blues
Are melting a approach
I'm gonna make a brand-new start of it
In outmoded New York

And... if I can make it within
I'm gonna make it anywhere
It's up to you
New York, New York
Just a comment on some of the posts here---

Some of the above NYC bashers don't live here. I find it amusing that folks living in Europe will speak of the outer boroughs as if it be a wasteland straight out of a 'Mad Max' movie.

This does evolve on this board quite habitually, I wish some of these folks would preface their comments near "I don't live there, but my evaluation is..."
Like most things on TV, New York is not exactly approaching it is on the Friends DVD. It's definitely a thrilling experience. And the boroughs outside of New York are NOT filthy. That's simply some idiot's opinion. NO WHERE is spotless, but it emphatically isn't filthy. If you don't like crowds, I suggest not spending too much time within Manhattan, because it can be a pain. In Manhattan you'll probably achieve pushed and shoved (not out of rudeness, but from people contained by a hurry that probably don't even notice), but that's one of the aspects of being contained by New York. Manhattan is also VERY expensive. Actually ALL of New York is! However, I would say there's more pros later cons to living in New York. In the finish off, everything pays off. You'll own access to some of the most famous companies contained by the world maybe surrounded by a few train stops or a couple blocks down. I'm sure you'll have a great time, especially within Manhattan! Enjoy yourselves and be safe!
New York isnt all cut out to be approaching it is on TV. I lived there. Manhattan is cool, but New York is unbelievably expensive to live in. Plenty of stuff to chose from. At tiniest they keep the streets verbs in Manhattan, but you stir outside of Manhattan, the streets stink like junk, pollution, dirty people. Gross.
Its fun to travel for a vacation. But not to live.
i love surrounded by NY now and it sucks. im going backbone to long island where its not so crowded. the sites are other beautiful and nearby are many things to do but you want to make sure you hold a lot of money beside you. as for coffee houses there is a starbucks on almost every corner. im sure in attendance are other small casual ones but i havent spent much time fascinated good luck
ny zilch like tv smells too much traffic nation rude and must have lots of loot to in actuality have fun becuase everything is overprice
First of adjectives, please don't listen to people who try and recount you that the outer boroughs (Queens, Brooklyn, The Bronx and Staten Island) are crime ridden and filthy. This couldn't be farther from the truth. There are areas in adjectives five boroughs that are clean, past the worst and extremely livable. In fact, to anyone moving to New York, I would insist on them to explore the outer boroughs before making a ruling.

Now as far as your DVD set of Friends, let me relate you straight out that living in New York is nil like you see on that sitcom. It's expensive and stressful, even so at the same time exciting and refreshing. Truth be told, most New Yorkers hold a love/hate relationship with their city, but would safeguard it till the end, and wouldn't trade it for any other place within the world.

You asked about the coffee houses. Yes, we do hold plenty of those. Some are as cool as the one you see on Friends. Once you move here and settle in, you will find a coffee shop within your neighborhood and will become a regular there, of this I'm pretty sure. You will also find a grocery store, deli and probably laundromat that you will consistency comfortable in.

Moving to New York is a big judgment, so I suggest you make a few trips here and see if it's something you would really approaching to do.

Good luck.
