What colour is the sand on Hawaii Islands?

Answers:
It depends on what the sand is made of.

Basalt lava that flows into the ocean may splash into the heavens and harden into small pieces call Pele's hair or Pele's tears. When these pieces acquire sloshed back and forth by the deep waves, they break into even smaller pieces and form the black sand beach like Kalapana. That's where on earth they filmed the Chris Isaak video "Wicked Game" shortly until that time the beach be covered by lava rock. The billowing clouds in that video are truly from super hot molten lava flowing into the ocean and turning the dampen into steam.

Broken bits of coral and shells make the sand look more white. The seaside at Hana Bay on Maui appears kind of greyish, and may be a mixture of lava rock and coral.

Olivine is a mineral thought to belong to the mantle, that lode of the earth between the crust and the core. It comes to the surface of the dirt through volcanoes. In it's gem-quality form it's known as peridot, the yellow-green birthstone of August. In Hawaii, olivine can lend a sparkly green color to the shore.

But vulcanology, geology, and marine biology do not transmit the whole story of the color of beach in Hawaii. In former times, sand has be shipped from Molokai to Oahu to keep Waikiki beachy willing. Some say it have even been shipped within from Australia!

The sand color patently varies depending on what coast you are on. Here goes: white beside fine sand similar to Florida, various shades of blonde thicker sand, brown, spray black, grey/black, olive green, red-clayish color. The road to Hana on Maui is particlarly interesting because along the way you can encounter black, red, and white sand beach.
i have to vote the color of the sand is tan brown, because of the heat of the sun.
When you lift up a handful of sand & look at it closely, you will see several colors represented: white, yellow, brown, black, pinks, even greens. But from a distance, it usually looks pale.
varies, almost every shoreline has a sand distinctive to it. The color comes from what is getting ground up by the surf immediately rotten shore. Some beaches are black, some are a suntan color, some are a mixture of black and tan, some are black/black (Big Island) some are dirty black (Maui), some are green (Big Island).

When we go to Hawaii a few years ago we brought samples of the sand rotten every beach we go to, then we put them contained by a clear vase when we get home. Very distinct differences between each.
the basic color of sand...unless on Big Island within is white, green, black!!
