Boston Hotel Help?
Where can I find a safe hotel surrounded by downtown Boston for less than $200 surrounded by a couple weeks for a 3 night stay? I’ve be searching and everything online is almost $300-500/night. Does anyone know of any deals or where on earth I should look?
Answers:
Stay outside the city, and whip the T downtown. You'll save a bundle, and it's really not that doomed to failure of a commute.
Try the Millenium Hotel in Downtown but look for a price on Priceline.com. We get a room there for a Saturday dark for my girlfriend's bachelorette party and it be only $135 for the dark and it's right next to Fanuel Hall Marketplace. Good luck!
October is other high season for Boston (Autumn contained by New England) and I think in that are some big conventions going on that month. Prices are hugely inflated for downtown hotels (it's not always similar to that).
You will probably have to stay within the burbs or cough up a bunch of money to stay downtown. Don't know your exact travel days, but it looks like the Sheraton Newton have some availability around that time and it's under $200 (expedia). Newton is freshly outside of Boston, and the hotel probably has a shuttle to the train stop (the T green line). Newton is greatly safe, and near are some restaurants within walking distance of the hotel.
Unfortunately, a quick scan of travel sites shows no availability within a nice hotel for under $200. If you want to stay contained by the suburbs there are better deal. Cambridge is a very nice place to stay.
Just a note around christnp's answer...
I know that when I worked at the Sheraton Newton (end of last year) they did NOT hold a shuttle to the T.
I agree that you probably won't find a hotel in the downtown for the rate you're hoping for. The suburbs are probably your best bet, but if you're counting on a shuttle to the T stop, telephone call the hotel (directly, not Expedia's number OR the hotel's 1-800 number) and ask them before you book.
Still, even if you enjoy to take a hackney cab to a T stop, it could likely wind up up cheaper than staying in the city at the rates you're seeing.
Edit: Jaila A, you in recent times copied and pasted my answer. That is totally worthless. I looked at your answer history and see that this is something you seem to do. I've reported it as it is a defiance of Community Guidelines.
