Humuhumunukunukuapua`a (Rhinecanthus rectangulus) also known as the rectangular trigger fish or Hawaiian trigger fish
Also known as the Hawaiian Triggerfish (much easier to say), the Humuhumunukunukuapua'a is the unofficial state fish of Hawaii. Although it is widely renowned as the state fish, the Hawaiian State Legislature has never in actual fact made it official. There are assorted translations of the word humuhumunukunukuapua'a including "fish with a snout resembling a pig." Another translation says that the heading means (loosely) a fish put together surrounded by pieces like a jigsaw puzzle, near a face close to a pig. Another rumored reason for the autograph is that when it is caught and brought out of the water, it snorts approaching a pig. One of its defensive characteristics is its flair to puff up somewhat, wedging itself between rocks or contained by coral. When it is brought to the surface, this air is released, making the snorting thud. The word "pua'a" in Hawaiian way "pig." According to this version, the first name, humuhumunukunukuapua'a literally means "fish who comes out of the dampen and sounds like a pig."
It's a shame they flog these fishes at pet stores or any other tropical fishes.
Here's another Hawai'ian fish: the longnose butterflyfish, better known as lauwiliwilinukunukuoioi. Considered the longest fish baptize.
