Where are the best communities to live surrounded by portland oregon beside close shopping and restaurants .. neighborhood?
Hello..my father is considering relocating to the portland OR area. He would similar to to live in an nouns where a vehicle would not be needed. Close to (within particularly close walking distance) shopping, grocery stores, restaurants, etc. Inside the city, he has started looking contained by the Pearl District... but i am wondering if there are any outer communities or neighborhoods next to everything he needs available as okay? Also, he does NOT want to live in a house or townhouse. He would close to a condominium, highrise preferably .. Must be a safe nouns, good shopping, convienient transportation methods, close to hospitals... etc... please permit me know if you know of any areas like this around the downtown nouns...or just outside of it. I be told it would be better to stay on the west side of the river. I've never been to Portland, so i really own no idea.. PLEASE HELP! gratitude in finance and aloha!

You own had some pious suggestions from others, So I will recommend a few that might tickle his fancy,altho most high rise condo's are downtown Portland, If I be him I would check out Lake Oswego, West Linn has some unknown places with Mt. Hood view that are excellent. Lake Grove is pretty nice, and area's around Mt. Park. Wilsonville still has a country grain, some nice condo's and "town homes".Investigate the resources I listed,that will communicate you AND show you the area
A sports car is needed!! Lived there for a few years. Had to move because of my assignment. But it AWSOME place to live! People are nice, barely any traffic, no smog. I lived surrounded by southern CA for 30yrs. So it was soooo much nicer than within CA!! It is sooooooooo pretty there! I love the green, the mountains, everything!!
If you want to live not in a house but close to transportation the best place to live would probably be one of the following:
1. The Pearl, as mentioned above, trendy but expensive.
2. Slabtown, the nouns of NW Portland mostly comprised of apartments and some condos north of the Pearl.
3. Downtown, especially near the University, PSU, where on earth I am a student, has a fundamentally nice campus and there are loads of bright condo buildings going in near.
4. South Waterfront, a new nouns on the streetcar line right subsequent to the river, all condos.
5. If you want to move about farther out, maybe Beaverton practical one of the MAX (light-rail) stops, which would have condos although not high-rises.
