What are the best and worst parts of living contained by The Woodlands, TX?

My girlfriend and I are considering moving to The Woodlands, TX from Wilmington, NC. I am 25 and she is 28. Is this a good place to move to for a young at heart couple? Also, how is the job marketplace around the woodlands/conroe?

The absolute tee-totally worst point about the Woodlands is the TRAFFIC! It's fearful 24/7 and getting worse!
i live within houston
Woodlands is a really nice area , so is Conroe.
I don't know your paddock but Houston is a very international city.
Many companies own offices here.

You do not want to commute from Woodlands to Downtown Houston. The rush hour traffic on I-45 is positively insane.

If you work Downtown, Midtown is the place to live for young couples who relish the nightlife. Both are kinda pricey.

Good luck
The work market is well-mannered and it's not a far commute if you are working in Houston. The Woodlands is greatly family orient so if you two are settling down and not expecting much in the bearing of nearby nightlife, it's surefire. It's generally softness and has everything you want so you don't have to turn into Houston much.
tooooo far.Its boring.
Unless you are getting married and starting a family contained by the next 3 years I would suggest not moving out so far. While the Woodlands is on the road to recovery on things to do, its not really there when it comes to socialization for the 20 somethings. Your best bet is somewhere inside the loop or downtown. Unless you enjoy a degree getting a paying profession in the Woodlands is lower than contained by town. The Houston House Apartments is Downtown, and includes your electric, rent is not too expensive. I lived there when I be working downtown, you can get a moment or two spoiled...lol Most of the 20 somethings I know live in the Galleria Area, which is right outside 610 Loop on the West Side of town. If your surrounded by the Woodlands you are looking at least an hour and a partly each agency in traffic into town.YUCK. Hope this might relief a little.
The Woodlands is the best place I have ever lived. There is tons of shopping, dinning, dark life and a totally friendly community. The homes and neighborhoods are well maintain, excellent roads and bike trails. Nice parks and each rural community has its own respite center that are exclusive for The Woodlands residents only. Once I seize home from work on Friday, I don't leave The Woodlands till Monday to progress back to work. Everything we requirement is in The Woodlands.

As far as the commute. There is The Woodlands Express it's a bus that take The Woodlands residents to all the chief work areas of Houston. You avoid the traffic by being contained by the HOV lanes. The cost is $4.00

The solitary negative I can ponder of is the high property taxes. But it is worth it to live surrounded by such a nice community.

If you work in irrefutable research, the woodlands is perfect because it's similar to research triangle in NC. But, resembling others have said, if you work downtown, that's a helluva drive everyday.
Lot of racists contained by the Woodlands.

EDIT: Ok, two thumbs down. I will explain: I have a black friend that moved at hand recently and he told me that he get stares a lot. He and another friend go to the driving range and profusely of people looked at him close to he shouldn't be there. He is not the thoughtful of person to sort that up and he wouldn't have said it if he get that kind of treatment everywhere. So, yeah, I believe him.
