so, this is a little slapdash but i'm going to nyc on a plane soon and i am wondering can you get a hackney cab right outside the airport?

My friend, yes you can get a hackney cab at JFK Airport. You can also take the Airtrain, which is a small automated reading light railway system that runs between JFK and the subway stations at Howard Beach and Jamaica. The fare on the Airtrain is $5 to exit and enter the system at both Howard Beach and Jamaica Stations.
From either station, you can verbs to the New York Subway and take it to anywhere surrounded by the city and at $2 one way, it cheaper than a $45 black cab ride.
