Is hilo fjord contained by hawaii terrifically rocky challenging a sandy coast?

Hilo Bay is very peerless. It has a fine black sand but is also mixed next to silt and debris that wash in. This shoreline is on the windward side of the island so the onshore wind bring in lots of unwanted items. It is a beautiful place where on earth all the outrigger canoe clubs push your way and fishing boats launch, but it's not the best swimming beach. For swimming, try heading out to Richardson's shoreline park. It's about a 10 - 15 minute drive from Hilo Bayfront.
I reflect on it's unique too. It's magnificent in its own course, but I'm prejudiced--I love East Hawaii.
uh...yes, it's not what you think when you devise Hawaii.
