Going to a cellar in the neighbourhood San Diego, what should I wear?
We will be going to the winery and doing a tour, that includes lunch. I believe the time frame is 11AM-5PM.

People wear sandals and flip flops if they're a moment ago doing tasting tours. If you're doing lunch, might want to step a little better than coast casual.

The tours are short and the same whereever you run. It's great when there's live music, but the $$ goes up.
I would expect you'll be heading the strip of wineries in Temecula - it get pretty hot up there. Shorts and a clad looking shirt are probably going to be just fine. The one estate in the county I can regard as of is Deer Park (Escondido) and same thing - get hot up there. It is the slump, but it's a bit inland so you can expect some heat.
in san diego free is anything from shorts/teeshirt or summer dress -- casual is fine... do not bother to dress up unless you are going for fine dining...
I not long visited a wine social event that included wine tastings at 6 [SIX!] different wineries... : ) It was a FABULOUSLY fun daytime : )
I wore: a really pretty halter dress, with a cute cropped sweater [in covering I got chilly] : ), and an adorable duo of tan Issac Mizarahi [sp?] slides ... : )
Everyone said I looked GREAT and I feel very pretty & feminine...! : )
HOWEVER.. after just about the 4th or 5th winery, I be feeling pretty angelic ; ) AND one winery have some chickens roaming around, outside the winery who be very friendly [who know chickens were so socialable...? lol]
Anyhoo... we be all petting & feed the chickens bread, etc. WHEN all of a sudden, one chicken come running towards me and I unknowing stepped backwards [bumping into a HUGE rock behind me] and I flipped over the fund of the rock, and my feet go FLYING up in the heavens, EXPOSING my very skimpy THONG underwear for ALL the world to see...! ugh... : (

Wine taste is typically a casual event during the time time. Sun dresses, jeans, khakis.those would all be appropriate.
Enjoy your taste. This is a great way to discover some clean wines. Often you will find wines that are only available for public sale on the wineries. If you fall contained by love with a wine approaching that, snap it up.
