Does anyone know what cell phones reach the best contained by Hawaii besides Verizon?

Go with T-Mobile
Depends on where on earth you're going. Some of the most remote places have no coverage. I love T-Mobile, but they don't cover Molokai, for example. Lots of race on Molokai use Nextel for the walky talky service, which works better than the phone in some places.
Just finishing month we were on 4 of the largest islands and our phones (AT & T) worked great everywhere we go.
I live big Island , the solitary provider where I'm at that will gain a signal is Verizion, T-mobile gets dropped plentifully here

All the cell phone services work pretty well contained by Hawaii but like any other city surrounded by the world, there are places that work better than others.
Depending on where on earth you are and what you're planning on doing will determine which cell phone service is the best.
Personally, I have Verizon and I own yet to find a spot where on earth the service is bad (with the exception of those spots that no cell phone service works).
