What are areas to avoid within the New York City nouns?
My girlfriend and I are visiting NYC for the first time surrounded by March this year

The ultimate three posts cover everything I was going to influence and I agree with them. You'll be fine.
Good luck and in good spirits travel
You'll be fine, NYC isn't that perilous anymore. During the daytime you can literally travel anywhere in the 5 boroughs and you'll be fine. As far as nightlife, stick to Manhattan below 98th Street and you'll be fine. There are several great places above 98th St and the outer boroughs as well, but depending on where on earth you end up, and how lost you receive and how much of a mark you and your girlfriend are...not truism that anything thing desperate would happen, but the likelihood are just greater.
Really, no place that's a main destination is a place to avoid. The more sordid areas are usually residential areas where you wouldn't progress anyway unless you lived there or be visiting somebody.
The areas around Yankee Stadium and Shea Stadium are not the greatest on off-days. On team game days, though, it's completely different. It's fine around there.
All surrounded by all, unless you're going to places that would be HIGHLY unusual for company to visit, you should be simply fine. This city is the safest big city in the U.S.
Enjoy the trip!
there really isint any places you want to avoid because in a minute a days theres cops and army people that save it nice. i dont know if you know this but if you want to go see the statue of lack of restrictions they only consent to 200 people surrounded by each daytime and you need to pre writ your tickets so i hope this helps =)
