Whats a black and white cookie close to? They are from NY. (It be contained by a Seinfeld episode I saw)?
I was watching an episode of Seinfeld the other daytime and a black and white cookie was mentioned. Is it approaching a normal cookie or more similar to a cake?
Answers:
I thought black and white cookies are Oreos. Its a chocolate cookie near white icing in the middle. Very nice !
Was it an oreo (white frosting between two black cookies)?
Black and white cookies are yummy! The cookie part is soft and cakey, sensitive of like the texture of an italian lemon drop cookie, and the icing on top is sticky. Half of the icing is chocolate, the other half is vanilla. So it looks black and white. They are usually voluminous, about 4-5 inches surrounded by diameter, although they do also make mini black and whites. You may know how to find them at a local bakery, or pre-packaged in the bakery cubicle of your supermarket, though the pre-packaged ones are never as good as the TRUE thing!
If you want to try them, I've provided you beside some links. My top choice would be from the top link, But be warn, they are expensive. (Usually a few bucks per cookie because they are so big.) If you're going to shell out the money for them, then you should charge them from an authentic NYC bakery. Maybe you can find some friends to chip in near you and share the batch!
