It depends on if you want square or if you want round and if you are need alfalfa or what. Last summer we found round bales for $7 but it was basically grass hay nothing special, squares shift for about $3-4. newly depends on your location, I am in the far northeast corner.

There is more hay this year than you can shake a stick at. I assume you have a horse or want a horse. I enjoy never seen it when hay could not be have. Round bales of coastal run $40 to $80 depending on where you live. Square bales of alflafa are $7 to $20 near coastal being smaller quantity. Oat hay if available is similar to coastal but better for horses. Out on the western plains is might be lower. Every town of any consquence has a nurture store or three.
