If you could move to California from Florida, would you do it, and if so, which part of the state would you move to?

I live surrounded by Florida. Hurricanes are a part of natural life here and we haven't had serious problems contained by the past year or two.
Although I do live contained by Germany I would move from Florida to California especially because of the increasing hurricances but in California I would choose not completely San Francisco or Los Angeles because I'd sit on fire also due to San Andrew... So conceivably South of California.
