A nice hotel that I own stayed at four out of six times on Oahu is the Pacific Beach Hotel. It has two towers: the Beach Tower (in the front), and the Oceanarium Tower. We stay surrounded by the Oceanarium Tower (floors 12th and higher) with an Diamond Head view). Partial oceanview rooms. They hold rooms with any a King sized or two double beds surrounded by the room of your choice.
Each room (as far as I know), has their own lanai and nearby are some adjoining rooms if you enjoy a larger group traveling.
The breakfast buffet in the Oceanarium is moderately good, and you attain your fill.
The Pacific Beach is right across the street from Waikiki Beach, and later across the street (going Diamond Head), you will find Cheeseburger in Paradise (located surrounded by the Foster Tower).
Another good restaurant (decent prices and biddable food), is the Seaside Bar and Grill (located on the corners of Seaside and Kuhio Ave). They always hold deals going on for B,L, and D.
The Polynesian Cultural Center have a luau there. You will know how to see history of the diffrent cultures of the "islands" there. Excellent hours of darkness show "Horizons", that is not to be missed.
Go on the Grand Circle Island Tour (if you want to pinch a tour, or rent a car and buy a map and progress for yourself)
Pearl Harbor and the Arizona Memorial (not to be missed...very stirring).
Dole Plantation is great! Go to lunch at the Helemano (sp) plantation. Very nice!
Take a Navatek 1 Sunset Buffet Dinner Cruise!! it is great and moral food, entertainment, and watching the amazing sunset!!
Not to be out done by the Blue Hawaii The Show at the Waikiki Beachcomber hotel. Great, great Elvis "impressionist"!!
Enjoy every minute there, you will love Hawaii!
BTW, don't honk your horn!! That is a huge NO NO!! And do not litter or jaywalk.
Stay at the Hilton Hawaiian Village surrounded by Waikiki. There are a lot of nice restaurants you will find newly by walking in that nouns, so no worries. If you like buffets, after Todai is a good one (different variety of sushi, seafoods, etc.) A good place for a Luau is Germaine's Luau (just buy your tickets at the commotion desk at the hotel you will staying in) the Tour Bus will pick you guys up from your hotel & back after the Luau. Many sites to see & plentiful things to do to list on here. I would suggest you buy the book call "Oahu Revealed". It will give you every piece of information going on for this island, from what is the best place to stay to the best place to eat to the best beach to go to, etc.

HAVE FUN!

For a condo to some extent than a hotel room, try mine at www.vrbo.com/85194 or www.vrbo.com/124435
Hotels are undemanding! It just depends on how much you want to spend. Try the prehistoric wing at the Royal Hawiian. I grew up spending every Sunday running down the beach while my parents hung out near the other Military officers. Its pricey but have the most class of anything in town. Make sure you are contained by the old wing. The investigational high rise is freshly another hotel room.

Here is a quote that I throw everybody about Oahu.

The cool item about Oahu is that in that is everything to do. You can go to Waikiki and bring a catamaran booze Cruise for $10.00 all you can drink. Just walking the strip at Waikiki at hours of darkness is fun with adjectives the street performers and ancestors watching. Good shopping. Great surfing and diving all over the island. Sea Plane and glider flights at conceivable prices. Hit the north shore and the Haleiwa area and see some of the best breakers in the world. And if it’s flat the fishing and snorkeling is spectacular. There are hose down falls, parks, concerts, and an amazing area of Strip clubs. (Not to my zest but available). Try Dukes for cocktails at Waikiki on Sunday afternoon. Beautiful people watching. Go to the Hawaii Yacht club on Friday hours of darkness and ask for a ride on one of the big sailboats for the beer can races. Right after the race there are Fireworks on the point at the Sheraton. Have Lunch at tropical lick. It’s a cart by the Chart House that serves some the best tacos within the world. Tell Jim that Randy said Hi. The list go on and on. Absolutely one of the best vacations surrounded by the world. I am envious. It will be awhile before I find back nearby.

PS there is a great prehistoric restaurant on Sand Island. La Mariana. It is this Great Tiki bar and it might be the closing Real Tiki bar contained by the Islands. Sand Island is kind of Isolated and La Mariana serves a small Yacht club at hand. The Place is all Bamboo and blown up Puffer fish. Gorgeous waitresses and the infirm Lady that owns the place comes down, holds court and greets her guests. The food is just spectacular. With gummy and hot Juicy steaks, Ice cold beer and great cocktails. There is a small piano bar and I swear that equal guy has be playing that piano for thirty years. The place was built at the genesis of WW2 and really hasn't changed that much. The old Bamboo have a kind of inner brilliance that only comes beside age and care. It’s really great. Most tourists never find it because it’s rotten the beaten track. Check it out. You won't regret it and the price is right.
Hotel -Hilton Hawaiian Village or a hotel near Diamond Head, if on a budget Best western by the airport
Nice Eatery--Top of Waikiki, it rotates 360 degree while you eat: price $60-120 for a 5 course banquet.
Best luau- Paradise cove
On Oahu walk the stairway to glory and drive up H3 the view is breath taking. Hop to Maui see the HANA and the 7 curative pools.
if you go to Maui nick in a theater show call ULALENA.Do learn local expressions and munch through at a local place either LOCO MOCO or L & L. Eat a Maui gold ingots Pinepple.
Don't go to Wainae or ask locals dumb query like what is Mahalo (Thankyou). Try not to look close to a tourist and you could get great deal at the swap meet at the Aloha Stadium uncap Wed, Sat, Sun, have fun. Oh yeah a street spelled LIKE LIKE is pronounced Leekey Leekey.
