Of course we don't hate them. Hate is a deeply strong word. Of course for those of us who need to be within midtown for one reason or another, tourists can be a aggravation. There is certain behavior that tourists tend to exhibit which can effect an annoyance in the on a daily basis life of a New Yorker. Things such as stopping short on the sidewalk, not moving adjectives the way surrounded by on when boarding the subway, etc. But no, I don't believe most of us hate them.
Tourists should not be intimidated to ask New Yorkers for directions on the street or the train. I know that myself and most of my friends hold no problem helping others and even get a level of satisfaction from it.
I will vote that many New Yorkers own more disdain for Americans that come from the midwest for example, than for those from other countries.
If they are annoying and obtain into their ways and obviously are a tourist ( aka the statue of independence crown and i <3 NY shirts).
No, alot of tourist girls are HOT! Kinda like the waitress you win at Cracker Barrel's or Denny's off of I-80 contained by the middle of nowhere!
I hate them but at one and the same time you boost the local economy. So long as you stay surrounded by the touristy areas and don't venture into the neighborhoods.
Only the ones that stand contained by the middle of the streets like idiots. & the ones that steal pictures of like a cardboard box. & the ones that rush through relatives with nearby huge cameras crashing into pedestrians. & the ones that take pictures within the middle of the sidewalk like family aren't in rushes. & the ones that appropriate their sweet time strolling down a busy street & then obtain mad when they go and get pushed out of the way. i guess that pretty much rounds up adjectives of them so yeah. (=

Everyone hate Tourists
Everyone loves their money.
My friend, this is New York City, the Capital of the World. Why do you think millions of tourist love coming here? Because this city is the most great city in the world.
Paris may enjoy the Eiffel Tower, London may have Big Ben and the Tower Bridge, Sidney may hold The Opera House and Sidney Harbour Bridge, but New York City have the Empire State Building, Times Square, Rockefeller Center, among others. So do New Yorkers dislike intensely tourist, the answer is no. New Yorkers love tourist.
Good luck
The problem next to tourists in NYC is that they dream up they are in Disney World.
NYC is not Disney World. People work contained by NYC in other job that have nought to do with tourism.
It really sucks when you are 10 min deferred for a meeting and within are three yokels from Springfield, Mo. standing in the middle of 42nd and 7th Ave next to their map wide begin taking up 3/4 of the sidewalk looking for Times Square all the while staring at the neon on the Reuters Building.
we have a love-hate relationship next to yous
we love your money, and you contribute to our economy, but you stride too damn slow, you stare up a skyscrapers all the time, help yourself to pics of everything, make unwanted eye contact, and you tend to catch lost easily even though the layout within manhattan is an exact grid.
generally, we're genus to you as long as you're not obnoxious, irritating, and just above adjectives dumb. if you act resembling you got adjectives sence, we love you, because that way you know to munificently stay outta our way and consent to us get on near our lives as NYers. if you get lost, ask for give a hand like you be taught within elementary school, we are willing. personally, i would a bit have a tourist who know where he's goin than a tourist who is lost and surrounded by my way.
AND LOSE THE BACKPACKS. THIS AINT THE WOODS, NO NEED TO CARRY A FREAKIN TENT ON YA BACK.
I believe that New Yorkers have a love/hate relationship near tourists.
We are proud of our City, and it's nice that so many individuals appreciate it. And of course, the money brought contained by by tourism isn't exactly small change!
But it get wearing to constantly be tripping over tourists, some of whom act similar to the City is one big tourist site, when we have to in actual fact get places and do stuff.
And, as you would expect, it's annoying to go to a museum or someother cultural movement and find it crowded with tourists! It would be nicer to hold some of these places to ourselves, some of the time.
But, on the whole, most family appreciate the tourists. It's nice to see the City through new eyes sometimes!
Most New Yorkers that I know are a bit annoyed at tourists, although unquestionably not all of them abominate tourists or they wouldn't be answering their questions on this message board.
