me and some of my m8s are going to New York in April. we are staying hard by Times Square and were wondering where on earth the best restaurants would be around that area.

Answers:
** to sit down: the little coffee shops are really not unpromising at all

If you wish, you can do a prod for MenuPages.com .. restaurant search for NYC restaurants
look for
* booth of the city that interests you
* the kind of cuisine
* reviews of respectively of the restaurants that are
listed
* you can click on the place that will show the menu of the restaurant: Onscreen Menu

that instrument you will know what they serve, their price range..if you find a place that interests you, you can do a separate query for their website if they have one, and you might find pictures to look at to see if it looks approaching what you want

This is a very broad interrogate. It would have help if you had at lowest mentioned a type of food or something like that. Get your self a zagat guide or sign up for it online. Manhattan have more 5 star restaurants of every possible nationality than you can shake a stick at.

I'm not trying to be indicate. Its just that within are so many choices. I go and get in to different parts of the city normally enough on business. Where ever I find parking, I break out the guide. There is usually a resourcefully rated restaurant near in a block of where on earth ever I found parking. I've not been dissapointed however.

French: Le gavroche or le singe vert
Italian: la mela
Healthy: Josies
Romantic: one if by land, two if by the deep
Steak: Peter Lugers Steak house

Also - if you really are into food - don't miss Zabars. Its a famous gastronome food store on the upper west side. They ship.
THAT nouns... I dunno.. I went to Bubba Gumps Shrimp once, and it be really good for a 'touristy' type of place.

One of the best restaurants contained by Manhattan is Angelo and Maxie's Steakhouse, E19th St. and Park Ave S., it's not extremely expensive either. It's 23 blocks south, and on the east side, but that's what subways and foot are for :-)
If you want a good time and a giggle go to these places. They're not your usual boring little resaurants. Get a guide/map from a tourist shop place to gain the address or ask a taxi driver to lift you to them.

1. Mars2112 - a brill restaurant ;you go contained by one side of a space ship simulator and come out the other side in 'Mars'. The waiter/waitresses are dressed close to aliens. Its out of this world!(sorry, just have to say that.)

2. The Jekyll and Hyde restaurant - its a fearsome but cool restaurant with dinner shows: expect lots of skeletons and automated executions, sounds abnormal but believe me IT IS WORTH IT, you will enjoy it! If you don't move about you will regret it!

Its good for a guffaw. Makes for a good memory.

These places are comatose cool! Loads of memorys to keep forever
well man, sum great places, but dont dance to the mainstream ones, walk to the little delis, the bagel places, the corner stores and get some jamaican beef patty, get some latest york pizza, stuff like that, for fancy stuff, attain a guide book
When you are time square, go bad the main road, in attendance are much nicer resturants. I ate in an italian place. All the crucial places are fast food on plastic plates. Mind you, bubba gumps be good, right at the start of time square, converse toysrus.

Good Luck:)
Best place to have pizza for smaller amount than $1.00 is at 9th Av/40th St called 99 Cent Fresh Pizza and it be open around 7am and it is extraordinarily delicious, but it is where on earth homeless and boggers hangout, so after you bought, you should eat and amble away from there stern to Times Square.
There's Soup Store on West 41st St.
Another best place is Japanese Food Store if you like Japanese cuisine. It's call JAL Family- Zaiya Cafe.
It's always crowded and you could share table if it be crowded.

At Zaiya Cafe, you order food and they will phone out your meal # within Japanese and English and bring to you.
It is located on East 41st St east of 5th Avenue, opposite of New York Public Library.

You could pinch (7) line because it's usually prearranged as "International Food Express" and it has tons ethnic restaurants along (7) line.

Another best place to devour is at George Washington Bridge Bus Terminal's Pizza. There used to be dinner where you could munch through, sandwich, etc but they shutdown.
If you could have time you should reserve for "

The L and M trains rumble in time near our stomachs, under and over some of the best ethnic eateries contained by Brooklyn and Queens. Join gustatory sherpa Todd Coleman on a transit adventure surrounded by good intake. The train doors open at respectively stop onto a vast and assorted foodscape. Visit an ancient Sicilian dolceria for crisp-shelled cannoli. Warm your belly Puebla style with a hot cup of creamy atole de arroz at a Mexican emporium of cookware, hard-to-find comestibles, and antojitos. Shop for tacky ropes of garlicky kielbasa, feast surrounded by a taqueria located in a humming tortilleria where on earth the tortillas are hot off reporters, and finish up among the steins and schnitzels in the vestiges of feeble German New York. Wear comfortable shoes and loose clothing, for lots of walking and eating!"

Enjoy the banquet!!
we just come back.
you'll acquire lots of recommendations for dinner, but the best meal we had by far be;
a) brunch at balthazar - 10:30am prince street DO NOT MISS IT !!
and
b) snack at katz's diner near grouping square i think but straightforward to find on google maps. 2pm, go and get pastrami or salt beef on rye. it's where on earth they filmed "where on earth harry met sally"

we did eat contained by the fish bar right on league square with the illuminate tables - that be good, but i forget the label..

our only disappointment principally trip was clean york yellow cabs and their drivers. none spoke to us. not various spoke english. not like within the movies i'm afraid!
