Houston is a big city. Both contained by terms of population, and also within terms of geography, so it's not especially easy to manufacture any blanket statements about it, but I'll answer your grill as well as I know how.
If you are planning on moving into downtown Houston, you must know that the school are not very appropriate. There are some pockets, like the Heights district, that are better than others. A honourable general rule is to stay far away from any neighborhood near the work 'ward' in it. Those are commonly higher surrounded by crime and have poorer school. The air competence is inferior, but frequent storms bring fresh air within often adequate that it never gets unacceptable, in my belief, although it is very humid. If you are asthmatic, this might bother you abundantly.
The northern area of Houston, however, is really pretty nice. It's still humid, but the air is pretty clean. It's a much more expensive place to live, but not outrageous, and the school are definitely better. Spring, Kingwood, and The Woodlands are adjectives great areas to live in, if you don't mind the boil.
One thing adjectives of Houston has within common is the weather. It is hot six to eight months out of the year (depending on what you phone call 'hot'), and it's really humid. There's also a lot of tropical storms that come up from Central America, as very well as rainstorms that come down from the West Coast. It floods within Houston a lot (count on at tiniest one a year), and when it rains, it pours. This is call 'sub-tropical' weather, and you get used to it after a while, but your first summer within might seem impossible. I never did like the weather much, but I love the family of Houston, the rich heritage they have from oodles cultures, and the availability of really, really good food, almost no concern what you're looking for.
Okay, first sour, i would like to recount you that a lot of gang brutality is moving up in Houston... Not trying to put your hopes down, so that sympathetic of puts the schools down, also, the heavens quality, is mostly unpromising due to all the industrial buildings within the city. You might like moving to Corpus Christi better...
I own lived in houston for 45 years. Never have a problem with nouns quality or shcools. It is a amazingly big place. Some areas are better than others. They talk something like bad nouns days on the news from time to time but the upper air quality never bothers me. I live on the west side and far away from the grease refineries.

From what I've see of the cookie cutter pastes, it seem Kanga has never done more than visit and bought a tourism brochure. The other kid who claims gangs are on the rise and we should adjectives move to Corpus doesn't understand authenticity too well.
Air element in Houston isn't bleak. There are some days when you may get a see of an east end refinery, but adjectives in adjectives, considering six million people within the area, our nouns is fine. Schools are hit and miss. Avoid Houston Independent School District. Shoot for an outlying district like Katy or Fort Bend (or Spring Branch IF you are south of I-10).
I've lived contained by Houston since 1977 on and off (mostly on... ignore two years in College Station, two years surrounded by San Antonio, and a few years in the Navy, the rest have been here). Houston is home. Yes, you take traffic, but no worse than any other large city (check out New York traffic and thank your lucky stars you aren't there). It is humid here contained by the summer, and hot. So is Miami. Houston has a choice rarely see in other cities contained by the US. Thing is, the word is NOT out and you'd never know. I have Yankee relatives who expect living here is like a trailride. They don't know of a world class the boards arts program, a wonderful symphony, the ballet, or (on the other hand), the professional football, baseball, and basketball team. We have a substantial and varied museum district, medical research services that are unparallelled ANYWHERE. We have NASA, we're home to the grease and gas industry, and more than 10% of the Fortune 500 is based here.
So, phone up me a little biased, but there's something for everyone (even AJ Lets Go Shopping).
