I'm going to New York (or the US for that matter) for the first time surrounded by my life span. Where should I dance?

I'm gonna be there for just three days. What should I definitely see?

Culture is nice but merely in small doses because kids and a shopping crazed woman will be joining me.

Answers:
time square, 5th avenue, statue of self-determination & more. as for kids& a shopping crazed woman-- bring them to 5th avenue.. there's many places to shop for them! they even hold all these kids restaurants!
Take the Circle Line boat tour. It go around the perimeter of Manhattan Island and you get hold of to see a lot of things (even the Statue of Liberty from a relatively close distance). You don't bring back to see the skyscrapers up close since they're further inland but it gives you a virtuous idea of what to see and do and shows you deeply of places that people miss. Great view of the Brooklyn Bridge as you go lower than it.

I also recommend catching a Broadway show around Times Square. With kids, catch a Disney show and you and the kids should both love it.
macdonald, kfc, smelling cast-offs in chinatown, breathing pollution adjectives over the place, paying 5k for a simple pair of shoes... stay home!
Check out the museums.

The Bronx or Central Park Zoos.

Go to Times Square. The kids will love it! Make sure you check out Madame Tusssad's Wax Museum. That's other fun.

Hop on the Staten Island Ferry and you can see the Statue of Liberty.

The Empire State Building/Rockefeller Center observation deck will allow you to panorama the city from above. It's gorgeous if you can go on a nice, clear hours of daylight!

I hope I helped!
For the shopping crazed woman & kids:

Send her and the kids to 42nd street/34th street for shopping (she will LOVE you for this one).

While at 34th, you guys can sidetrack and check out the Empire State Building

(also particular as: If your wife wants to preserve shopping and you're tired, you can head over to the building and check out the view/sites to see etc..).

There's also the Natural History Museum, the Metropolitan, Central Park and 5th ave. (if you're within the 5th ave shopping area: you can sidetrack and commander to rockefella center)

If you check out the statue of liberty, check out ground nil (if that's not too depressing).

There's a great little family themed restaurant on 51st and Broadway call Mars2112.

Other than that - try a tour.

Here are just some subjective links to stuff you can do in the city:
I went to U.S concluding summer and being to New York City with the sole purpose for a day. I go to Times Square, Liberty cruise, the Financial District eg. Wall Street, United Plaza. Been to Rockefeller Center to go up to the close watch deck to view the awesome New York city at great stage. I also went to Niagara Falls at Buffalo, New York. Feel free to see my travel blog-> http://travelerfolio.com for what I have seen surrounded by New York.

I also went to other parts within U.S like Orlando Disney and Universal Studios Washington D.C and Virginia and spent a total of 15 days contained by U.S.
move about to times square... because it is something everyone loves to see... and there are tons of stores and cool things. you can also travel to like the statue of autonomy because thats a cool thing to see. especialy for your first time within.
:]
of course the statue of nouns and I think Times Square.
statue of liberty, the today show (u could b on tv), for the kids, if u hold girlz, go to the american girl place, and request a tea or a lunch in attendance, they hav really cute stuff for the dollz. if they hav dollz, bring them, if u hav boyz, go 2 the lego shop and look around. if u are staying contained by manhattan, go to the lemon grass grill, the food near is outstanding! there are mcdonalds and over the place 4 u to guzzle at. make sure u use the subways profusely, i wouldnt try getting a taxi or renting a sports car, the traffic is horrible there. also, the brooklyn bridge is other good, although i didnt seize 2 go near on my trip. and if u luv shopping, youll luv the big apple, it has shopping adjectives over. hope u hav as much fun as i did!
