in attendance are a lot of things to do within downtown chicago. Plenty of bars, restaurants and shopping. The concierge at the hotel can lend a hand you further.

The lakefront is divine in the summer, but it is amazing contained by the winter.
All of the places I mentioned are less than 15 minutes by bus from any Loop location, which is where on earth your hotel is located.
The Museum of Science and Industry, which is a must-see, is about 30 minutes away by bus.

If you own time, you might want to consider a brunch, lunch or dinner cruise on Lake Michigan. If yu can take the evening cruise the Chicago skyline is breathtaking.

If you form the Visitor's Center at the Chicago Cultural Center your first stop, there is a immense amount of info available, and the clerks are very accommodating.
Remember to order a Chicago-style pizza, and hotdog, if you are interested.
As far as what Chicago is high up for, pick a feature! It is a wonderful place to call in, it is the rare soul who can do and see everything they want to on the first visit. It is also prominent for the above-mentioned pizzas and hotdogs.

That's a really great list from 1985 to choose from. But if you want one point Millennium Park is a must-see. There is nothing resembling it in any city contained by the world. I used to wish Chicago have something like Centre Pompidou within Paris with its plaza full of whimsical sculpture and fountains and one really cool building. Thanks to Gehry, Kapoor, and countless others I imagine Parisians are presently wishing they have M-Park.
go to Portillo's! They're illustrious in the nouns for hot dogs/italian beef/ribs
