this place is awesome. I am 16 and enjoy been at hand 3 times and can't get plenty of it. I love it.
I've be there. I in fact really hate this place. It seem really dangerous to me if you enjoy small children. Its dirty and weird, and it feel sort of demented to me. But this is just my feelings. Most people really approaching this place for some odd motivation. Lots of friends have be there and really enjoy it. But if you're thinking of going I hope you have fun. If you own small children I would recommend checking out the exhibits before you consent to them crawl and play on them.
I LOVE the City Museum, it really is a cool place and I have never be to a place like it contained by the US. On Fridays and Saturdays they are open to 1 am to allow us “bigger” kids to come out and play. The cave are awesome to crawl through and I really like the spanking new dark flimsy slide room. Where else can you go down slides that are 5 stories high-ceilinged! Kids of all ages hold a great time here! I also like the aquarium, not your traditional type of aquarium it does enjoy the City Museum twist. Crawling through the shark container is so cool and of course feed the sting rays is just awesome! Beat Neck Bob’s is also located surrounded by the city museum you can get some beer here is you are thirsty for a cold one; they also get rid of corn dogs and snacks like that. Again on Friday and Saturdays they show movies at hand which is really cool. If you have kids they will love this place, near is a train that they can ride, tons of places to crawl and climb, playing is encouraged here. There is also the Everyday Circus which is pretty shipshape to see, kids who are learning things resembling juggling, acrobat and walking on wires, you can even have a birthday group with the circus which is a cool opinion. They also have an art studio where on earth you or the kids can make a tie dyed t-shirt or other projects and they hold an onsite glass blowing studio, so cool to see. They enjoy different special exhibits throughout the year in the gallery so you never know what you are going to bearing into. Outside the City Museum is like no other climb the metal tunnels to go and get to the airplanes that hang above the building, step down some cool slides and have fun surrounded by the ball pit. Be sure to find the “secret” tunnel that take you under the floor of the City Museum you will consistency like Indiana Jones passageway cool. There is so much to do here for all ages; it also make a great date place. There is so much to see and do and even at my age I have a blast going at hand. Whenever I have friends that come into STL we other take them here and they cannot believe that we have something so cool here. Again I enjoy never been to a place resembling this anywhere else in the US. I notably recommend going there! You might want to check out their website for more information it is intensely extensive and has everything you want to plan a wonderful trip to the City Museum; it is on my list of top ten places to see here surrounded by STL. Hope this helps!

Very very fun place. Its rather pricey if you are bringing a group but. Great Place
Totally cool place. THey have stuff for everybody! Indeed keep watch on the kids though, there are some areas that could be terrifying.
I have 5 kids. They adjectives love the City Museum. Lots to keep them busy! My kids' age breadth is from ages 8-15. A bit pricey, but a very shipshape place. The outdoor area is the best sector especially at night. Perfect for ages 5 and up. I agree that it would be difficult to whip any child under 5. It is a must see.
Its fun to go to on a Friday dark and play at being a child. Its really not for small children but its fun for those beside a great imagination. Not your typical museum by any stretch.
Been there frequent times. Every time you go here is something new. Most everything is made from recycled materials -- everything from an ancient airplane to salvaged architectural pieces. The place is run by an artist, Robert Cassilly. There is an aquarium in that too, but a separate charge applies.

Thrill seekers will enjoy it. If you are afraid of height or confined spaces, however, it might not be for you. I think ages 8 and up are fine. Little guys could draw from lost or might get terrified. If there are little ones surrounded by your group, you might try the Magic House instead. It's better for the 10 and under crowd and still a great deal of fun.

If you like Cassilly's stuff, check out Turtle Park too. It's to hand the STL Zoo.
