Metrocards usage surrounded by yonkers,NY?
am new within Yonkers,NY and really want to know the cheapest means of transportation to college(bronx comm.College)?I own bought a metrocard and dont know the usage,the cheapest and most convenient means of transportation using the metrocard.Am on Riveradale Ave,and so which place(location or address) is the best to stand to egt a bus or train to draw from nearer Bronx Community College?Please get me the starting places and stops i will own to follow to get to my destination cheapest and most convenient?

here's the problem, you can't catch from the beeline bus #8 to the bx 3 without like mad of transfers. if you are dead set on taking the bus, don't articulate i didn't warn you.
stroll from riverdale ave to south broadway, and take any the #2, or #3 bus to the last stop, that will be within the bronx, and you will see the W242nd st elevated 1 train subway stop above you. you take the 1 train down to 181st st, next you get rotten, and take a nyc bus Bx3 which will help yourself to you back north toward bronx cc. it's a headache. you can alternatively pocket the 1 train to w207th st, and you take the Bx12 bus for a few minutes, next you transfer again to the Bx3 bus. but contained by the end, you'll jump crazy.

At the 242nd Street subway station, you could any take the number 1 train (Red Line) or the Bx-9 bus southbound to 238th Street where on earth you can transfer to the Bx-3 bus to the BxCC. The Bx-3 bus will take off right at the front door of the college.
Now, the reason I said to pace to South Broadway is because bus route #8 only as far as the college of Mount St. Vincent at 263rd Street and the route does not operate on Sunday, while routes #1 and 2 operate 7 days a week.
Also, since you have a MetroCard, you can use it on both the Bee Line and the New York City Transit Buses. If possible, consider getting a weekly unlimited MetroCard for $24, which will offer you unlimited rides in both transit systems, and that's a huge stash.
