The best things to do contained by Oahu?
We will be in Oahu for a nuptial in January and are spending a week, what are some well-mannered (off the beaten path) things to do? This will be our 2nd time so we own already been to the Polynesian Cultural Center, Pearl Harbor and hiked Diamond Head. We'd approaching more local type stuff this time. Also any good restaurant suggestions?

The best surfers in the world are contained by town. Jan. is in the middle of the winter surf season (huge waves) run to the North Shore, check out the surf, shop/lunch in Old Haleiwa Town.
when did you go to PCC? i be probably working there. all right some cool stuf 2 do huh? well contained by laie where the polynesian cultur center is. theres also a falls contained by the back of laie. call the laie falls. also by that foodland where pcc is contained by laie. take a right at the pale if L&L is on your left and dance up to the point. that's laie point. that's not much of a touristy thing. but put together sure you see some locals jumping stale before you try. also there's waimea inlet where bring one big rock for jump rotten if you like dat kine stuff. oh, be in motion look for my buddy's shop, it's called Kava Roots. it's located surrounded by pupuke'a next to that foodland and across seize one beach call sharks cove, good for snorkling. but at kava roots progress and get a bone carved necklace and some cups of kava if the boys stay at hand. well k-den, shoots, enjoy fun ova there.
I go to Oahu for my senior trip. There is a reef there where on earth you can snorkle. If you go long-gone the reef (BUT NOT TOO FAR!) you can see some amazing rainbow colored fish, and if you are lucky you can see a turtle. Be careful because on the swim spinal column, the waves are really strong and they can push you into the reef. For me, it be worth it. [P.S. Bring an underwater camera.]
Local history: Iolani Palace, the home of the last ruling alii, is located downtown & is markedly beautiful & interesting. The docents are remarkably knowledgeable. Bishop Museum have great permanent collections & also traveling exhibitions. Right immediately, it features the brain.
Culture: Honolulu Acadamy of Arts at Thomas Square has a apposite Asian art collection & a very nice restaurant for lunch. Community theater: in that are several playhouses. Diamond Head Theater is the one closest to Waikiki.
Nature: snorkeling at Hanauma Bay is a lot of fun. Catamaran rides sour Waikiki beach are a blast, or if you are contained by decent shape, try a surfing lesson. Hiking the Jackass Ginger trail sour Pali Highway will get you to a dampen hole. May be muddy in Januaray, though. Horseback riding contained by Waimanalo or Kualoa.
Restaurants: Hy's for steak. Roy's for Pacific Rim. Kincaid;s for fish. Tsukiji's Fish Market for Japanese. Eggs & Things for breakfast. Michel's for French. Zippy's for local food (kind of a Hawaiian version of Denny's).

I lived contained by HI for several years and have be on many haunted tours throughout the US. But the one on Oahu is the BEST. If it is still unequivocal, the tour is conducted by "The Haunt" on South King Street. It's a very well-mannered tour and scary.
Be adventerous and move about to Chinatown...it's like one in another country. You can find really pious food there too.
Oh food is awesome within HI if you know where to progress...I know cause I gain about 20lbs living in that! Genki Sushi at the ala moan or Kapahulu, Kakaakoo Kitchen at the ward center for good plate lunches, John Dominis for romantic dinner beside awesome views. Little Village contained by China Town on smith street for awesome chinese. Camilla's Korean BBQ is an all you can get through Korean place popular with locals and so is Makino Chaya a japanese buffet place. OH...the garlic chicken at Assiagioa at Ala Moana Center is awesome...Kuaian (sp?) Burgers at Ward Center have the yummiest burgers and fries. Oh and we can't forget Bubbies ice cream for awesome homemade...Mochi rime cream...oh soo good! hope this help!
