Have you ever be within a hurricane?

What was it similar to?

Answers:
When I first went overseas surrounded by 1967 the aircraft carrier I be on went through a typhoon(which is a hurricane surrounded by the Pacific). One of the Cruisers and both of the destroyers turned back to Pearl Harbor. The other Cruiser be nuclear powered and stayed with us. We lost one of our screw on the port side and two blades stale of a screw on the starboard side. We also had one of the hangar creek doors torn off and we lost two planes whose tie downs come loose. It was a worrisome situation. Other than that, everything was fine.
I've been through one at ocean. It is like the Gordon Lightfoot song "Wreck of the Edmund Fitzgerald":

"Does anyone know where on earth the love of God goes
When the words turn the minutes to hours?"

I be on a small ship and we were taking huge rolls. Several times I thought we would capsize. I didn't regard as I would ever see land again. It sucked.

Later I "endured" hurricane Brett miles away surrounded by a hotel with AC, cable TV, and friends playing cards who evacuated adjectives in a big convoy. That be a blast.
Two or three when I lived within Florida in the 60s. We other left the house trailer we lived within and went to my grandmother's house which have withstood hurricanes for decades. I remember being surprised when the TV newscaster go off the atmosphere when the tower fell down but overall no fear.
economically nobody here said they had their house destroyed. Me and my ancestral wnet thru charley in 04 and lost simply about everything. It be a cat 4 when it hit us. Its hard to describe but the snake is unlike anything you will ever see and the sheer force of it and to watch everything come apart surrounded by seconds everything you worked so tough for just blow away similar to nothing and most you never find again. hiding contained by your house and hearing it ripping the walls, roof sour and blowing windows out.
Its awfully traumatic I dont wish on anyone.
Typhoons as they're called be I was. Guam, Philippines, and miscellaneous locales in southeast Asia.
Two or three times. It be really pretty the way the snake blew through the leaves of the trees. I like when the power go out because the whole house feel more peaceful. One of them be a little fearsome because it got so close to where on earth I lived so I just imagined I be pushing it away
i've always evacuated, but don't want the hassle this time. i will agree to you know in a few days when dean get here
No, Thank God. Our home be hit by Rita and we are preparing for possible evacuation due to Dean at this time. I know of two people, both grown glowing men who stayed behind for Rita and died of a heart attack from shear horror. So God willing I will never be within a hurricane.
One word sums it up if you experience the eye of a hurricane: SCARY
Yes, I was 16 at the time. It be Hurricane George. It hit Key West and was a category 2. The wind where really strong and the storm surge brought water right too our door. There where on earth a lot of small tornados that would pop up out of nowhere.

The worst chunk was after the storm. We go 2 weeks without power and surrounded by Key West in August i.e. misserable.
i live in Puerto Rico and you know its lucky location. sweet to huricanes. i hold a fully experience. i experimented about seven of adjectives categories. the huricane isnt approaching to tornadoes. tornadoes move very briskly and you can view it. the huricane you cant estimation it. yesterday Dean was individual 170 miles of Ponce, PR (southern part). we feel the precipitation and tropical sotrm winds but it the hurricane pass exactly above we with wind of 150mph you know. hurricane duration was going on for of 6 to 10 hours. 10 hours of winds. just about 30 to 35 inches of rain. and they own a center of inactivity calle the eye. the best pick is that you cant see it in the fused states because the most of the houses are constructed in wood and gympson board. that house usually dont resist this wind. here in puerto rico and i imagine florida and all of these small island nearby and here like Bahamas, Martinica, Barbados etc the houses are constructed of blocks and cement. within 1998 we had be azoted from hurricane georges exactly the 21 of september. the duration was roughly speaking of 10 hours. wind 135 mph. and 41 inches of precipitation. there be a power outgage of about three weeks. surrounded by 2004 Jeanne was provocated a power outgage within all puerto rico for in the region of 5 weeks. the hurricane most of time pass contained by puerto rico overnight. ours neighboor make soups and asopao jajaja ( i know that you dont know. the asopao is resembling a soup but we pour rice. usually the people here variety with shrimps but you can brand name of any other things. the children plays card game or board spectator sport. the other day we wake up up to clean the street for the trees . Almost time the renewal works to come to a normal situation nick about three to six weeks. up to that time huricane you can find anything in the store because the populace buy everything. bottles of water dont exist week since of a hurricane. jajaja. we have fun when a hurricnae comes because the confederation of all relatives to help the nearest and dearest an the community.
no, there's no hurricanes surrounded by my country, I feel lucky :)
