Next week will be contained by Manhattan for the 1st time & it looks resembling rainfall, what are some things we can do?
Not used to being outdoors when its raining. Will we call for an umbrella?

In Manhattan, approaching anywhere else, if it's raining, you need an umbrella. Museums are a honourable idea for pouring days, or shopping. Besides the large art museums or Natural History, there's a Museum of Television and Radio on 52nd Street, I meditate it is. You can literally watch merely about any tv show ever made--it's specifically different!
Rainy days are dutiful museum days. You could easily spend adjectives day at the Metropolitan Museum of Art or the Museum of Natural History and not see everything within. If you don't want to pack an umbrella, you can usually buy one for $5-$10 from a street vendor if you surface you need one.
I would recommend that you bring an umbrella, Manhattan in Fall when it's raining can be comparatively miserable;
As far as what to do; depending on your age I say checkout the comedy spot in the vicinity time square, it's called the roll with laughter factory; and it was hysterical, if a little raunchy; the best time to run is ~ 10:30 PM

Also, the building structure getting built at ground zero is wroth a look; you can transport the metro from the center of the structure, if you don't want to ride, still go down into the subway and check out the panorama I was in attendance a couple of months ago and the construction site looks neat.
And I'd also recommend that you munch through: eat drink eat :) find a deli on street stratum and order a hot pastrami sandwich beside swiss cheese delicious.
You also enjoy to have some NY pizza, the best pizza places are on street rank ask advice once you find there.
Times square is awesome if you can stay dry beside that umbrella.
I would not recommend going to see the the statue of liberty contained by the rain however; doomed to failure idea. you would bring back really cold on that ferry.
